Default Ultramon won't detect 2nd monitor

Hi,

This is my setup :

Monitor 1 : BenQ 20" Widescreen using DVI (native 1680 x 1050)
Monitor 2 : Samsung 19" Widescreen using D-SUB (native 1440 x 900)

Using the NVidia utility works fine to clone the monitors however I can't work out how to adjust the resolution of the secondary monitor. Ultramon doesn't even detect the Samsung.

Also when I play video in Windows Media Player or a DVD it doesn't show on the Samsung.

Any help would be appreciated !

Thanks

Desktop properties, settings should do the trick.

As for ultramon not seeing your monitor... I think its something to do with your configuration on the nvidia side that's hijacking the display.

For example if I don't enable my monitor from display properties, it just clones whatever is on the other screen provided it can display that resolution. Not exactly your situation but you can see what I'm getting at.

Try turning off any existing config you've got with the nvidia and giving it a reset.

I've had that problem with ultramon quite a few times; it really is maddening. Once or twice I've fixed it by switching the monitor connections back and forth and rebooting a zillion times. The last time I gave up and did an uninstall/re-install. That worked and no problem with registration because it remembered the key at re-install start up. Am not sure, can't remember but I think System Restore didn't fix it either.
