black screen ehh!

i have a 15" lcd screen its a viewsonic g seires the back light turns on put no picture does any one know how to fix it

Does it show as having signal (Green light instead of orange) and are you able to try it on another display device?

If you've been messing with your display settings this could be non-serious. When you turn on your pc does it show any of the post or bios etc?

Have you checked that the GPU is seated correctly, I fixed a friends PC today and the GPU had just come loose from movement.

If you have another computer somewhere...either laptop or desktop, try running the monitor off those. If it works, then it could be the graphic card. Like Reza said, see if the video card is unseated first.

Yes, a viewsonic vx2025.

That lcd is simply gorgeous.

A vx2025 is not a 15" lcd.

Also if you went for a vp series they have a 0 dead pixel policy. Out of interest how old is your dead lcd?

1 year got it last summer

Does the monitor have multiple input modes? My ViewSonic vp2030b has more than one input mode, and it's given me quite the scare more than once when I accidentially pressed that button.

aha that is unfortunate. Not that it helps but I wouldn't buy refurb lcd again after your experience.

Only thing I can say is it's probably worth calling viewsonic all the same and seeing if they'll go through with a warranty exchange. Don't mention it's refurbished. You never know they might take it.

For the sake of a phone call it's worth trying.
