HELP, monitor messed up

I recieved my new pc yesterday, built by evesham, and set it all up and was working fine until today where I decided to try and install 2gbs of ram. So I opened all the case up fine, installed the ram and plugged all cables in. Pc ran fine and made all the right sounds and stuff, but the monitor screen said no signal. I kept on fiddling around with the monitor cable but no joy, so I thought that the mobo couldnt handle 2gbs, so I put the 1gb back in. Put it all back together, plugged the cables in and guess what, no signal again. So I put the 2gb in again, and still no signal...

Anyone no whats up with it? The monitor is a ViewSonic VX912.

Unless you unplugged all the cables off the back end before you opened it up, the monitor cable should still be attached properly.

The most likely scenario is that during the install process, you bumped the card and/or disconnected the aux power to your card.

In either case, my suggestion is to physically remove the graphics card and reinstall it and make sure all power cords are attached where they need to be.

And not to be a PC nazi, but try to refrain from pejoritive slurs in the future.

Thanks, I did unplug all the cables though...I will try and resink the card now.

Check the plug at the monitor too; if the 912 is like my 910, it's a pan to fit.

Sorry, thoguht I replied...Its all sorted now, thanks for all your help. I resinked the graphics card and then everythings all good

Its crisp image quality, but all I have to compare is monitors from pc world

eeewwwwwww PC World. Wouldn't touch them with a 19ft long bargepole. Glad you got your PC from Evesham!
