This might be a bit of a long post but here goes...........

I just switched my gear into a new rig running 2x 7800 GT OC's in SLI and everything looks great except when i play movies on my 27" LCD HDTV via HDMI( Olivia ) or my TV (36" Sharp flat screen via S-video ). Every movie I play has a kind of copper/bronze color , like in the movie "300"

Now when I was running movies from my HTPC with an ATI 9600XT , movies looked great on my TV ( never tryed this on my HDTV).

Anyone ever experience this before? and how would i go about trying to fix it? I've tryed all the video card settings, and futz'd with the TV adjustments but it still seems off. if I make the movie look better on my 27" , then my desktop and everything else looks wierd.

I'm stumped..............

I don't know dude; I've never actually used a computer to play a movie on a TV, with the exception of the Media Center Extender for the XBox 360. I'm sure interested in finding out how you fix it hough...

I've got a rig hooked up to a 32" lcd through the d-sub and movies look fine. Never had a problem.

I don't know if it will help or not but in the new nvidia control panel there is a seperate color correction page just for tv out. If you haven't tried that yet you may just have a slider out of place.

Well I just spent the last 2 hours trying EVERY combo/adjustment I could ........... and it slightly better but still looks like a cross between a color movie and black an white ?.

So , i've resigned myself to rebuilding my HTPC and using that till i figure this out.

Have you tried a different cable? I've had a color problem before from the cable running near a magnet messing it up.

Nope MC&C , wasnt the cable ........... I even went out an bought another DVI to HDMI cable to make sure.

Have you adjusted the color in the NVIDIA control panel under the video & television section?

Yup , tryed that for like 2 hours . I can get it better but not like it should........ like watching regular TV or a DVD from a player. Also if I make the "Movies" look better , then my desktop and browsing starts to look bad.
