Well that's not good... is your card overclocked at all? Looks like the RAM is going bad. If it's a dual output card (i.e. vga and dvi), try the other port and see if it does the same thing.

	Bear in mind though that old cards tend to die easily if overclocked - I bought a 9600XT off eBay, had a fiddle with the clocks, and a day later I had to send it back...artifacts like crazy even in Windows at stock speeds. If you kill the card it's your own fault.
