Suggestion: Ebay may have some used versions of these parts, or cheaper (but not likely if they're not used.) How much less? You can back down the HD to SATA1 (instead of SATA2, which is what you have there), go for cheapre / less RAM, cheaper graphics card ... You could also check out PCApex's For Sale area and see if someone has any of these parts for sale. Or post a "Parts wanted" message there. -godling | ||||||||||||||||||||||||

I told him 2x1GB of good name brand RAM, screw the speed and timings, just quality made. Dual core I think is a good idea, not for todays games, but next years... Vid card means nothing..its a place holder till DX-10 midrange cards are out...but still should be reasoanble performance wise for todays games. 450 watts is plenty for a PSU and midrange parts, 500+ watts is overkill....justone that is gonna last a few years without a burp. | |

They'll be alot cheaper than that Asus and they should also oc relativly well.Plus they are very good at just being able to set up and go. Also even if that x1600 is just a placeholder a x1650 will offer way way better preformance for only $5-10 more. | |
