My brother was looking for a laptop for college the past few weeks, and my dad suggested going to Office Depot to look for a cheap piece of **** under 1000. Well, we found a laptop under 1000, but its not a piece of ****. It's got a really awesome 14" glossy widescreen, pretty decent speakers from Harmon Kardon, a really nice soft keyboard, a remote attatched to the side of the keyboard, and wireless built in. The battery life is 4-5 hours, or so says the suspicious Office Depot salesman named Mark who makes 5 dollars commission, so you can't trust a man like that.

Apparently, a similar deal or same deal isbeing offered online with mail-in rebates and ****. I myself dont like to get caught up in rebates, they either never get sent or my mom ends up throwing them away thinking they are just credit card applications. Just make sure you click on the rebate savings thing on the side to print them out.
