Lightbulb 2006 Dodge Charger

Hello,

My name is Dan and I am a Marketing Representative from the Dodge Information Center. We are just conducting some surveys regarding the 2006 Dodge Charger. This has been cleared by the site admin.

Have any of you have any thoughts or feelings about the new Charger? Has anyone driven one and what did you think of it? How would you like to win one?

Dodge is letting you do just that with the Unleash your Freak contest running on Dodge.com. Time is running out so it is certainly something to check into. Also Dodge is looking for the next Hemi Spokesperson with the Hemi Star Contest. This gives you the chance to be in the 2006 Dodge ram ad campaign. Sweet!

In addition if anyone has any questions regarding any vehicle in the 06 dodge lineup we would be happy to answer them.

Cheers,
Dan

Even if we didn't make the grille for it, I think Dodge's styling department is leaps and bounds above Ford (with the possible exception of the latest Mustang) and GM.

It is a SHARP looking car. Try winning one if you can...

The only thing I can say is that the new Dodge Charger you folks have introduced for the police forces looks extremely...well, awesome is the word I would use. It's given it that Bladerunner/Mad Max feel to it. Haven't talked to anyone departments that's ordered them yet so I would like to see how the performance is in a police environment.

I'd love to say that I'd look into getting one; however, I'm a Jeep man, through and through.

Rob

EDIT:

HERE is a link to the police version of the Dodge Charger.

Also, I'd like to ask what kind of development that Dodge is doing in the area of hybrid vehicles, too.

I'm die hard Mopar fan. I know the specs of the A (poly-hemi), LA, Magnums, V-10s, RBs, Bs, and 5.7L inside out, I also know the planetary set count in every slush box made by Chrysler Corp too. This all being said - why in the heck isn't there a two door option? I honestly would put myself deep into debt for a 2 door, four door.. I'll wait til I find one in the used car market. Ma Mopar broke my heart.

Thats the one thing that really pist me off the most....The name DODGE CHARGER...I mean the word CHARGER gives you chills thinking about the old school CHARGER. But you come out with this 4 door car and call it a CHARGER??? I do think that the look is cool but when you see that it is a four door you really dont consider it a cool sports car. In my friends body shop they have converted 2 of these CHARGERS into 2 door cars and they look damn nice!

Actually, a 4-Door Charger was most requested or something of that nature, way back in the mid-90's.

I love the car, honestly I do, but I wish it looked a little less like the Chrysler 300, shape-wise.

I wish there was a 2-door Charger too.............The Chargers of the past were never 4-doors.

I don't like it and i'm a car guy. i think it's decent for this time of age by why the ^ell would you call it a charger. I restored a old school charger once, a guy wanted it for drag racing and i got 970horses in that puppy. But for ya'll to give the new car the name charger just mest up the chargers reputation. When i heard it was going to be called a charger i thought wow finally there coming back with some muscle cars. (which would sell) but this was just a let down. Don't feel bad tho i feel the same way about the new d*mn Mustangs. (Having the nerve to call it after a Muscle Car).

Yeah the new mustangs were upsetting also. I was really looking forward to buying a new Camaro when it came out in 2007. But they cancelled production on them now, so we wont be seeing any real old school muscle cars anytime soon.

I think your wrong there...........

I think Ford did an excellent job on the new Mustang..........both on looks and on performance.

Since we've gotten totally , no one can deny the horrible act of barbarity when Chevrolet reintroduced the moniker "Nova" in 1985 to this P.O.S.....

However, to get back on topic, I think that the Dodge Charger looks really nice (but again, I'm a Jeep man).

I think this say's it. 2006 is classy it's not like the old charger (personally i think you need a car that dosn't have a lot of foreign parts so people can customize it the way they want).

As an owner of a 1966 Dodge Charger (for those who don't know, '66 was the first year the Charger was produced) I can honestly say I like these cars. I'm glad to see Dodge producing newer models of these cars in tribute to the fine street warriors they were in their day.

...it cracks me up that Thrasher gave this guy a welcome post.

ADD: I just wish people would realize they made the Charger in '66 and '67 that look nothing like the General Lee-esque Chargers of '68-'70. As a proud owner of my land yacht, which isn't the prettiest of cars or the most compact, I think Dodge should let the consumers be aware of what was produced first, then what's produced now.

...so what you're saying is that you didn't paint it orange, put a "01" on the side with a Confederate flag on top, and install your own Dixie horn?

No, because my Charger isn't the same generation as the General Lee. It's the original, it's old school.

The older chargers rocked so hard, seriously a 7 litre engine in a car not that much bigger than a family saloon...it was like strapping a rocket to your seat...

I've not driven one (not having passed my driving test yet) but I've seen several at American car shows.

You can't really call this new car a Charger, it doesn't look very good I reckon. It seems that Dodge are doing the same thing that Mazda did with the RX line, dumbing it down to appeal to a larger market by adding more doors and sanitising the styling.
