| Apex Tech God | True but there made from a copper alloy, so not entirely copper. i do believe pure copper is the best conductor for heat.
But i could be wrong.

You are sort of correct. Copper is better then aluminum in a active cooling (airflow) and aluminum will dissapate heat better in a passive cooling situation (no air flow). So if you have good airflow on them I would go for copper but if it is mild to no airflow I would go with the aluminum ones. This also why copper heatsinks and waterblocks work better then aluminum becuase they're not passive cooling situations.

| Apex Tech Fanatic | It all has to do with specific heat, and Newton's law of cooling. Different materials require different amounts of energy to raise one degree in temperature. Also, rate of heat transfer is proportional to the difference in temperature. Copper draws out heat quicker, but is quickly saturated, and aluminum pulls out more energy, but holds on to it. |

Couldn't really say as I don't know it the VGA Silencer allows for enough room for RAMsinks...

![]() | ahh excellent point, i might actually wait and see if can get the zalman heat pipe setup. My rig is sorta in limbo, its in a shi**y case with a shi**y PSU so i'm gonna wait till next summer to do any wire sleeving or other mods to improve the aesthetics, so i guess the vid card will have to wait also. |

I'm interested in seeing how well the perform. How did you install it, thermal epoxy? Did you lap it? Did you see a noticable gain with the ram overclocks? Just wondering .

| Freck-hoe-d | I dont have any thermal sensors I placed on the memory. Right now I've been crazy busy with life and havent had a chance to push her to the limits. It seems to be doing great with my crappy air-flow. I should have a new case here in a week or two that should help imporve the airflow, so stay tuned.
