| Awesome - thanks for pulling this together! I was wondering what the other prices were for some of the other X2 lines What would you guys recommend as the best "bang for the buck"? Personally, I think the E4300 would be the best deal, but the 4800+ seems like a good one, too. Any thoughts from my fellow pimps? | ||

| To me the price point on the E6400 is looking mighty nice, although not in the above list. Newegg has it for $193 Newegg.com - Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 Conroe 2.13GHz 2M shared L2 Cache LGA 775 Processor - Retail It will probably come down a little more before too long if you are not in a rush just yet. | ||

Yeah E4300 is somewhere around X2 5000+ to X2 5200+ from what I see - strangely even faster than a E6400 at times according to Neoseeker's review (which I find odd seeing as its a lower PR chip). Overclocks are impressive (- %200 from 1.8Ghz stock to 3.6GHz w/ water).. I'd suggest you get it if you already have the platform or need to upgrade to a new one anyway.. | Hmmmm.....so given everyone's comments here, it sounds like either the E4300 or E6400 is the way to go. I totally agree, especially for the sub-$200 price range. O.K. - now I've been out of the game for a little while - so bear with me (and my probably dumb questions) for a moment! ![]() Now, T2 posted a link for the E6420 for almost the exact same price as the E6400. What is the difference between the two? It looks like the E6420 has the 4 Mb cache (vs. 2MB on the E6400)....are there any other differences worth noting? | ||

| I was going to post the link here to Frys/Outpost for the E6600 Retail Box for 199.99 shipped, but apparently they just sold out. But expect to start seeing more retailers selling the E6600 for 199.99 as they are part of Intel's planned price cuts. | ||
