Default Thermalright SLK-947u

It's $31.99 right now at www.svc.com that sounds like a deal to me.

I already checked the thermalright site for compatability and found this...

"SLK-947U is designed to fit both AMD socket A as well as Intel P4-478 motherboards with and without the stock retention bracket that came with motherboard. So far, we have not found any boards not compatible with SLK-947U. "

Hope this help's some bro's out...

Yup, I'm planning on buying that on the 15th and replacing their stock cooler with a 92mm red LED one. I'm just going to overclock my 2500+ to 3200+ , and I think the SLK-947 can handle that.

Just wondering, could I use the 80mm Tornado I planned on using with a SLK-800U that I was planning on buying? (That'a a killer deal and cheaper than the 800U)

Gore,
that cooler works with
60mm
70mm
74mm TMD
80mm
and
92mm
you are pretty much covered when it comes to getting a fan.

Great Find...thankyou!
i was about to order Thermaright Volcanoe 11+ from www.DIRECTRON.com for 29.99 but I think I will try this instead.

2 Questions
1) Is a fan included with purchase? The THERMALRIGHT site mentions a "STOCK" fan.
2) Will this eventually support Athlon 64 bit cpus? I know I will get one eventually. Hey, I can hope can't I?

No, it does not come with a fan. I would get a Panaflo 92mm M1A. Awesome combo.

I don't know about A64 support.

This cooler and anything from Thermalcrap (Thermaltake) are in entirely different leagues!

Well,

I got my Christmas Stuff early...my shopping list is below. Thanks Buzz_4_20 for the heads up about the heatsink. Your company charged me a high amount for SHIPPING and HANDLING I think. The case was $7.39 for shipping, the SLK-947U was an additonal $4.27 and the remainder of the order which is mostly fans and fan connectors comprises the difference of $14.34. Sheesh...does that seem high to you??? What happened to combining items for LOWER shipping costs?

putwig: I went with the 92x25mm YS-Tech 66.3CFM/40.0dBA 4-pin Case Fan because I get an additional 16 cfm per minute versus the Panaflo. Thanks, though.

Yes, I bought the CHEAP case but it has 4x80 mm fan holes and 1x120 front hole...besides, my TORNADO fan (along wiht the other fans) should cool ANYTHING. I can spend the money for some PC3500 memory later
Besides, I don't need no stinkin' case!

From www.directron.com...my pride and joy! Thanks go to PUTWIG and other Pimps for their time and advice in this selection.

Hey PIMPS,

Just anote to let you know that my shopping list works PRIMO.

My current running overclock is

185X12.5@1.725=2313

Temps are 23 F motherboard and 41 cpu idle and go to 45 F for cpu under load.

I can run higher 185x13@1.875 but I didn't like the high voltage. My memory timings are 2-2-2-2-5.

Thankyou for your help.

Jazz
