![]() ![]() ![]() | Eaglebit.com - Eagle Tech KSR4500ST Mid-Tower Computer Case with 450W Power Supply (Black) Manufacturer's page: SkyHawk Computer Technology Co.Ltd. -- KSR4500 AFAICT, Skyhawk is Eagle Tech. Notice how Newegg refers to their products as "Skyhawk/Eagle Tech" and that I see some of the same cases on their site) I bet this place is going to have the whole "cigar exploded in their face" look when they realise they announced "qualifies for free postage" on a case that likely costs $15 or more to ship. Drawbacks: It's thin metal (0.8mm), it's a bit shallow (450mm deep), and it's got an odd drive-bay config (only one outward 3.5). No removable drive cages. Benefits: Black, aluminium, 120mm exhaust, comes with free doorstop (PSU), tasteful look as a whole. |

Yeah, but it's 1) Not aluminium and 2) looks like Optimus Prime and an Oakland Raiders helmet had a child. Being aluminium compensates for many sins in cases. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

I have purchased 2 MSR4615 cases which are an older design with a removable PSU and motherboard tray. The exterior looks OK but has many cheesy looking plastic parts. The aluminum is very thin and it has some sharp edges. The parts are not a perfect fit and they are connected mostly with rivets. The actual product had a side vent that was not in the specs on the web site and I had to remove it because it got in the of the CPU heatsink. I used one on a modding project that I haven't finished and the other houses my father-in-law's current rig. I think that they are worth the money but are not a high end product like a Lian Li. I also have another mid-range aluminum case, an A-Top 731 (if I remeber correctly) which uses thicker aluminum, has a sturdier feel and better tolerances. I like it better but it was twice the price of the Skyhawk.

![]() ![]() ![]() | I thought all the MSR46xx cases are the same chassis with different combinations of front and side panels. I found the MSR4620 I got (back when Newegg was selling them for like $20 or 25) pretty nice... the construction is fairly solid and the exterior finish on the metal is nice. The real clincher on it though is that it's a touch deeper than a lot of other cases (incl. the one I mentioned) so you get this nice gap between the mobo and drives to work with for cable management. The 4615 is clearly the cheesy model though: the 4610 looks like a Lian-Li ripoff, the 4620 has a distinctive ridged front panel with nasty blue ornamentation... and the 4615 has one of those stupid LCD thermometers. |

| Apex Tech Fanatic Supreme | Just got mine today. If anyone wants, I'll post pics of it once I get a chance tonight (around 2-4), or else you can just wait to see my next worklog ![]() This case is, as you would probly expect, very flimsy. The panels are very thin, but the latch design is really quite cool. Not only does it come with a 450w PSU, but it also comes with a 24->20 pin power adapter, and a 120mm black fan!!! WHAT A DEAL, AM I WRONG. Aside from that, the thing needs serious love. The paint looks as if it was done by me (orange peel out the ass), but at least the overall design is cool and the power/reset buttons looks sweet. Let me know if you want pics, I'll take a **** ton. This case is still being offered for $35, and it now has a $10 rebate. I prefer the $30 up front, but I guess their new deal is better than before because they still offer free shipping. |

![]() ![]() ![]() | I'd love to see pictures. I keep thinking "I should get one" because I feel like I can't really do anything else much with my MSR4620... but I think I will be put out of I bring any more cases into the house. |

![]() ![]() ![]() | Uggh. The front panel's plastic, isn't it ![]() Tool free PCI clips? Not a huge fan (I prefer thumbscrews) but a reasonable packin. Looooong PSU cable. ![]() I could see it being a pain if you have a full-ATX mobo with "tipped over" IDE, like an Abit. It would strike that raised ridge. |
