Next week is the last week of August, and as usual, the summer completely flew by. One thing that happens around Maryland near the end of August is that things seem to spice up, get busy, and get interesting.

First off, the Maryland State Fair starts this weekend and I believe lasts until Labor Day. State Fairs are always a blast. For me, it's all about the beer garden, the funnel cakes, and the entertainment you get by just walking around and watching all the people. Usually they have some vocal performances, rides, arts and crafts, and carnival style games. Great place to bring your family in the morning and afternoon. Then in the evening it turns into half of the younger crowd and half into the college crowd scene. I believe this year there are going to have a performance by Raven Symone...yay...

Also starting this weekend, which is a very big hit, is the Maryland Renaissance Festival up in Crownsville. This usually lasts until Mid October, which to me, is the perfect time to go because the weather cools down just a bit. The Ren Fest is a great time, and we try to go at least twice a year. Unlike the State Fair, there is no beer garden because you can get beer throughout the entire Festival and drink it wherever you go! There is also a wide variety of food choices, so that's always a plus. Tons of shows and activities going on all day long, so there's always something to do. Another great way to spend a family outing, a fun date, or enjoying the day out with your friends.

Hitting up Ocean City is also a big thing during during the next two weeks. That place is usually bumping all summer anyways...just overly crowded this weekend and next!

And finally, Thursday nights at a few of the clubs downtown is college night, which I'm sure is the same in most other places. And even though certain clubs reserve Thursday nights for the 18+ crowd thru the year or thru the summer, at the end of August is when they seem to draw the bigger sized crowds. I guess everyone wants to get in as many partying days as they can before school starts. Then school starts, and a few weeks later, the partying resumes lol! But the one club in particular that we go too has been seriously jam packed the past two Thursday.

Well all our towns fairs and carnivals are in the beggining of summer or around the middle, but my local "village" as it says on the sign, has there community day on labor day weekend, every year, which is a one day thing but considering the town is aroun a square mile if that (which the three bars kinda show what the mile of town does) and about a quarter of the town is the water plant and the VFD, and the VFD is where the community day is held they have a few game tables a live band of some sort, lots of overpriced food, and lots and lots of beer lmao, its a fun day nce a year where i make about 100$ off all the drunk old guys playing the dice game.

But yes the end of summer is coming, but my summer is going on till oct luckily i have a delayed start for school, but my HS is starting on monday, good luck to them.

I'm glad Summer is coming to an end... I'm looking forward to getting another semester under my belt and the friggin heat has been pretty bad this Summer.

A lot of co-workers came in late today or took the day off since many of them had children that went back to school today.

Summer hasn't been too overwhelmingly hot over here...there have been a good handful of days...but other than that not too bad.

I think we'll take one final trip to the beach before the nice weather ends.
