| So here I am talking to Iat and godfoot waiting for my sleep meds to kick in and suddenly a thought came to me...It is Thursday its my DD day.So I am violating Iron's day and blaiming it on the meds. As for being bored I still am and trying to figure out something different to do. It came to me out of the blue and it is still in planning stage. I think I am going to build a huge wall hanging ant farm. They run loose here so I might as well make a home for theim to hang out in. Maybe give em some little ****tail unbrellas some pink flamingos and a little bamboo bar to go with their new surroundings. So I am listening to trance and found out I really do not like it.There is more than 4 drum beats in the world why dont someone change it up a bit? While I am at it trance sounds alot like the slow rap songs. Same tone over and over and over................... I might be bored but not that bored. In goes Jon Spencer Blues Explosion. I am tired of everything being shortened and abravited. Saw a commercial while watching CSI tonight. CSI, NCIS, and whatever else starting to spell sucky to me. Even my beloved John Spencer Blues Explosion is joining the act changing thier name to just Blues Explosion and before then JSBX. sorry but my time is valuable but not so valuable that i have to shorten everything. Another thing that is chapping my hide is all these shows now dealing with art or what passes as art. How many tattoo shows can we see or cooking shows interior shows and Opra or what ever talk show talking about books. Where is the visual art in these reality shows or talk shows? I want to produce one go to people in museums catch theim off guard and ask " why you like this what you get out of it?" Or force someone to go hang out in New York meet a artiest and see what or where thier ideas come from. But its easier to jump on a band wagon and shovel a hundred dollar piece of kale down your throat and say "It's great because someone cooked it by the name of (fill in the blank) " And god as my witness the shows about hairdressers. Are we really that bored that we have to watch some rich lady shell out 200 bucks for a hair cut and another 100 greenbacks for "product"? I need sleep I am ranting..have a good night folks | ||

Having visited many, many wonderful art museums my opinion of most modern art was distilled perfectly by overhearing another patron (8ish year old girl) at MOMA while looking at one of the Jackson Pollacks. Her quote: "I can do that." I'm sure I've ranted about this too, but if a kid feels it is within their skill set to do something, it really isn't art. "Art" of this kind is perpetuated by critics, galery owners, and conservators who tell an all too trusting public that this artist was important because of x, or this technique was such a breakthrough. Bah. Give me a renaissance painting or sculpture any day. There is absolutely no way you can look at 99% of Michelangelo Buonarroti's work and not be moved. Here's a good Link even if the site has cheesy midi music in the background. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
