Happy Mothers day to all the moms out there!!!

In May, 1913, The House of Representatives unanimously adopted a resolution requesting the President, his Cabinet, members of Congress, and all officials of the federal government to wear a white carnation on Mother's Day. Congress passed another Joint Resolution May 8, 1914, designating the second Sunday in May as Mother's Day.


On Mother's Day the U.S. flag is to be displayed on government buildings and at people's homes "as a public expression of our love and reverence for the mothers of our country." President Woodrow Wilson issued the first proclamation making Mother's Day an official national holiday.


My mom has been calling me every single day this past week, making sure that im going to visit her on Sunday. Its so hard to figure out what to do for the lady that has been there for me my whole life. Roses and dinner is what IÂ’ve done for her ever since i moved out. I want to do something different this timeÂ…Â… there are some good movies out now and I know she likes scary and comedy movies just like me, so that might be an option for later in the evening.


I would like to hear what the PCA community does on this day, not only women are celebrated today, but single fathers too who have to be both parents. If anyone is having trouble thinking of something, ill put a list here on some possible ideas for you to consider.


·Breakfast in bed.
·Thank you card.
·Chocolate.
·Brunch at a popular local café.
·Play/opera.
·Rose(s).
·Phone call (for those too far to visit).
·Movie.
·Make a dinner or dine out.
·Favorite book, find a limited edition or autographed copy.
·Express your feelings through words…Poem/letter.
·Macaroni picture… for you youngsters.
·If she is a stay at home mom, do all her housework. Let her relax.
·Massage in house.
·Spa gift package.
·Ticket(s) to her favorite sports team home or away game(s).
·Picnic.


These are just a few possibilities for today. Post what you have planned and/or some more ideas for mothers day.

gave my mom a phone call, and sent her a nice thing of flowers. hopefully ill make it home in a couple months and take her out for dinner.
