| Sunday, beachbum's Daily Disturbance...... A very honorable person died this past week, its someone who has helped mold one of the most dedicated athletes I've ever known of. Earl Woods died Wednesday at the age of 74, for those who donÂ’t know that is Tiger WoodsÂ’ father. There are people in the world that can appreciate a good father more than others, and most of those people never grew up with one, I am in that group.
I hope most reading this knows how much golf takes out of you, and how someone of Tigers age is such a success story in the game. Yeah I know, I'm just another sports fanatic guy but once you see the bond that these two had, its awesome to say the least.
At 15, Tiger Woods won the first of his six straight U.S. Golf Association titles.
At 20, he won the last of his three straight U.S. Amateur crowns.
At 21, he won the Masters in record fashion, by a whopping 12 shots.
At 24, the onetime phenom completed the Grand Slam.
At 29, he earned his fourth Masters green jacket and his 10th major title.
All of those feats are owed to majestic talents with which he was born with.
The dignity and humility that have accompanied this incomparable success? That is owed to a legacy left by Earl Woods.
May he rest in peace.
So put all this into perspective, appreciate what you have, make the most of it. Because when you least expect it, that someone, that something might not be there anymore. |
