Cool Crap! Do you remember...

...that song that went like this?

...that movie with what's-her-name in it?

...that one time in band camp?

We all have moments like these from time to time and to varying degrees. Sometimes we'll brush it off without a thought. Other times, we actually lose sleep staying up all night using Yahoo and Google, typing in catch phrases in quotes just hoping that it's going to hit on something out there in cyberspace.

It's happened to me on a number of occassions and unfortunately, it becomes too much of an obsession with me. I'll spend hours at home and, yes, sometimes at work trying to track it down. I won't stop until I remember it. Here's an example of some of the ones that I've had in the past year. Let's see if you can track it down, also.

There was a movie with that A-Team leader guy back in the late 70's with that guy from Airwolf...

That crazy dude that still gets votes for president sang a song about catholic girls...

The movie where the computer takes over the house and wants the woman who lives there to have its kid...

What was that song with all the video game sounds in it?

The dad from "A Christmas Story" going to outer space...really long movie...

Back in the 70's, there was a corny song that was the theme song to a soft drink...

That 1970s or 80s TV movie where they found the entrace to hell was under a neighbor's house so they set up some electrical equipment to examine it and some piece of scanning machinery locked on to the wife and showed that she was a devil (malignant, I think it said)...

Well, o.k., I didn't get that last one. That's the one that I've been obsessing over for quite a while now and it's driving me absolutely bonkers. If anyone can help me out, I'd sure appreciate it.

For the answers to the questions, simply click your mouse and drag over the empty space below. Try to see if you can answer the questions first. No cheating now!

Until next week, stay safe out there,

Rob

Answers:

Damnation Ally - Actually went on e-Bay and bought a copy of it on VHS a while ago. Not available on DVD yet.

Frank Zappa off of "Joe's Garage - Act I, II, & III". Song was called "Catholic Girls". Still a catchy tune to this day.

Demon Seed - Pretty scary movie. Too expensive on DVD still. Might try e-Bay.

Aphex Twin - "Pac Man". Cool, but annoying.

The Marian Chronicles...a made-for-TV movie inspired by Ray Bradbury.

New Seekers - "I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing". Just outright annoying...not even in a cool way.

Finally, it's not "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark". Already checked that one out. Oh, and it certainly isn't "The Amityville Horror", either.

Nah, it isn't either one of them.

This was in the late 1970s. The gate to hell was found in the basement of some new suburb home and I remember a bunch of scientific equipment had been set up down there to explore it ('cause they didn't know it was hell at the time). The lady of the house was seducing someone (maybe next door husband...the star of the TV movie, maybe) and trying to entice them to go into the hole in the wall. Some kind of visual scanner had been laying on the counter and the camera pans back to it, showing a highlighted outline of the woman and the word "malignant" flashing on the screen.

That's all I remember of that TV movie.

That's a rough one to figure out. I looked for about an hour and couldn't find a thing. Theres a couple of movies like that for me. Like this one I saw at the drive in when I was a kid. A woman was having little demon babies. All I really remember was one of the kids killed somebody with a meat mallet.

I was a little kid, so I'd have to say somewhere between to late 70's to very early 80's. 78 to 82 maybe

No no, the Marian chronicles was a sitcom about 7 castaways stuck on a place called Giggilos Island. (I think )

Anyone remember Hires root beer? I was flipping through the channels last night and Caddyshack 2 was on. The groundhog stole a Hires soda. I had completely forgotten about that stuff. I wonder if it's still around in other parts of the country?

Good Stuff
All I knew was the A-Team Leader was George Peppard and Airwolf starred Jan-Michael Vincent and Ernest Borgine.

And yes. You can still get Hires Root Beer here in North Florida :-)
