I've decided it's the making the cases and the planning that I enjoy most, so all my cases will be used til I make the next one and the old ones will be placed with ever loving care into a dumpster. House of Kolor can't please me for long it seems, I get back from PDXLAN and instantly started looking for a new case. Forget the fact I put myself into debt for hardware for it, I'm wanting another case to work on with the current rig still needing to be paid for. It's an ugly cycle.

I see it, I desire it, I need it for my fix. Dreams flood my mind of cases covered in 100% liquid sex on the sheets of metal. I see what I need to do before I'm even done looking at it. I can't take the pressure anymore - I am one with the Krylon and Duplicolor Gawds. My hands aren't steady anymore due to things I've done, but I can force them to steady once more with a cut off wheel in my hand. I don't need chemicals - I can take a trip on the smell of hot steel and be in awe of the spark's fiery flight. Making my dreams come to a viewable surface.

Draw out the lines, measure thrice and cut once. Grimace, and wing it. That's in the end what happens to my planning. Colors on rattle-can caps that don't match the contents is my bane, and the cause of much vulgarity to exit my mouth. Etch and a sneeze, and a vein in my forehead begins to bulge. I love it... I really do, I love the screw ups, they only make me mad, and the madder I get the more entrenched and focused I become. Give me shoddy tools, and less than ideal materials - I think I do better with them anyways.

I need to re-form the sheet metal to my desired end, it gives me peace. I cannot fail, because I cannot stop. Letting the mistakes that've happened make me back down isn't an option. You cannot fail if you do not stop, correct? They'll either end up in my junk pile, or they'll do as I dream... but I'll continue on with the next victim regardless of the first one's outcome.

I'm TOTALLY with you on this (well, maybe not the "liquid sex thing" - perhaps my case *cough* of modhausen's syndrome isn't as accute as yours...yet )
I do have the bug though - I want to mod cases and don't even care if I don't have the hardware to install in them - for me it's all about chopping, painting and redesigning - with the end result (be it good or bad) being the fruit of MY labour, not anybody elses.

As much as I sympathize I also envy you Iat. I have a couple cases around here in dire need of modding. One project that is almost a year old now and as much as I have the desire I haven't the time....

I keep telling myself I will get to it but there is always something else to do instead...

Yah - no kidding. I've learned that there's a company in Anchorage that can load House of Kolor or Alsa Corp exotic paints into a spray can for me.... ohh I'm gonna have fun now.
