To me, baseball is less enjoyable to watch than getting a paper cut on your knuckle... then dipping it in salt water... repeatedly, so I always look forward to this time of year... WHEN IT IS ALMOST OVER!
And could it get any longer? But I digress.

College football season starts this weekend (hockey season is starting soon too!) and for those of you in that age group... the start of the college school year.

Although I have been out of MSU for a dozen years now, the memories are still fresh...

- The weather was still decent enough for shorts, but there starts to be a chill in the air in the evenings... which is needed to get rid of the heat in unairconditioned dorms.

- MASSIVE parties starting Thursday nights through Saturday... follow any group of 4 people walking away from campus, and you will find a kegger.

- Going to the Dairy Store to get a double scoop.

- Blowing off 8am classes

- Spending ungodly sums of cash at the bookstores.

- Getting to know the people in the hall / in your class / the hot chicks getting every last bit of sunbathing in while they can out where you can appreciate it... (you may be spending time with your future wife, if you're lucky like me)

And now there is a good reason to drive back and annoy the current students with our slow driving and rubber-necking. I always thought it weird to see the alumni regailing each other about going to class here or spending freshman year there.

But now I TOTALLY understand it... and do it myself quite often.

I can't wait to get back again to see what has changed and enjoy one of the most beautiful campuses anywhere.

To those of you going back to campus... enjoy yourselves!
