So after my little problem with a certain Motherboard company I decided to go for broke. A while back when i was down with a dead Epox board some Pimp sent me a whole bunch of boards to see if I could get theim working.
After fighting with one all day i finally got a Dfi Lanparty Ultra B up and running. I found out a few things along the way. First my Plextor Preminum likes to work with WD lifeguard cd but not a XP disk, And the lite on 411s is reverse. Talk about figuring that headach out. After a clean install and thing were up and running time came for the tweakin and overclocking. Well the first part went smooth, the overclocking is starting to feel like a loosing battle.
All I want is to see 2.3 ,thats not much to ask for is it? But yet again the overclocling gods is a frowning upon flounder. I swear this special touch folks have to be born with. There is alot of OOOHHH, AAHHHH factor when seeing a good to great overclock. But numbers dont allways speak for theimselves. I have no clue how long it usually takes for someone to get to overclocking pimpness or how many days it takes to get everything stable. We see worklogs of mods but very few of the days, weeks and months that is involved. Trust me i can admit its not a "Build it and it will come thing". I have now at the moment a DFI lanparty board, OCZ gold 3200
ram that GK reviewed and a supposed Barton 2500 that unlocked.
It is powered by a OCZ Powerstream
PSU and everything is cooled with H2o. Oh well at least its cooled well and quiet.
So here is to you mad overclockers, way to go and I hope that you at least know one person out there knows all the hard work you do. I am going to bed my eyes hurt from squinting to see the cmos jumper.
Have a safe week all.
