| Pardon me while I go grab my OC party hat! Yeah..it's a "Suicide" screenie, not "Benchmarking" stable...but oh well, what the hell who cares.. ![]() it's still 3 GHZ I have a trip to make today, meeting up at Digi's to go to see Rob for a little "Staff" meeting, so I had prepared something prior to today, but... A little accident with my "Underclocking " experiment on the passive cooled Mobile 2500+ gave me the dreaded BSOD at 1.4GHZ using 1.275v, prior to that is was fine at 1.35GHZ. Anyways, it left me with a big fat "NTDRL MISSING" laughing in my face... I tried to recover it, but to no avail So I dragged out the SLI "Hot Rod" and demoted it to "Desktop" duty for its first time. Well, last night..I had found a neat little part of CPUZ that I decided to investigate a bit further. Just go to the "About" tab and click on "Validation" It will give you the pop up window below, just click "Save Validation File" and put it somewhere easy to get at like My Documents. Then you click on "Validation Web Page" and upload your saved file! If you choose to get an ID, you can have a link like this http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=27887 sent right to your E-Mail address Of course it didnt matter that I had just BSOD my main gaming rig, and a month ago I had lost the Bios chip in my AMD 64 3200+ feeding my need for speed ![]() I had to push this REV "E" core, it's kinda like playing "Russian Roulette" sometimes...but it's so damn much fun! With voltage cranked up to 1.6v it's idles at 38C, earlier when running only 1.53 volts at nearly 2.9GHZ, my load temps were reaching over 55c running Super Pi, so I am not going to push my luck . Sometimes a gamble pays off, fortunately nothing "Fragged" out on me as I reached for the "Holy Grail" that few AMD air cooling "Fans" will ever see short of using the FX-57...the Magic 3GHZ!!!! That should be possible. I have gotten an 800MHz OC out of my XP 2000+ with mediocre RAM and PSU and not even many case fans. If I ever get around to installing my centrifugal blower in a case I am sure I could squeeze out another 200MHz with better RAM and PSU. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Nice job my man...Is there any way its stable at that? I bet you get sub 25 sec super PI, maybe 23 if you had that OCZ VX ram with the 1.1 Also, why not drop in a 11 multi (or 10 even) and go for the higher FSB...a little better performance and still should reach the same speeds. | ||
