I QUIT!!!!!

This isn't a joke, folks. It's about as real as it gets. As of this moment, I hereby resign my position as the Lead Pimp Writer for PimpRig.com.

Shocked?

You should be.

O.K., now that I've gotten your attention, I guess I can explain more in detail.

My job, as of late, has become exactly that...a job. Nothing more, nothing less. That's a disappointment to me.

You see, I'm the kind of guy where I have to be happy with what I'm doing or else I go stir crazy. Back when I started this job in late 2000, it was something that I wouldn't have called a job...I called it fun. I actually looked forward every day to getting up and going in to do what I was being paid for. Unfortunately, that's all changed in the past couple of years. Things are happening to which I cannot explain. However, I can and will tell you that everyday I have to go to work, I seriously consider calling in sick just so I can avoid the headache that I know that I'm going to get if I do go to work.

Remedy?

Well, going back to college to get another degree to try something that I know that I enjoy...computers. I'm going to ITT Tech for a Bachelor's in Information System Security. Because ITT Tech is a private school (i.e., very expensive), I've decided to get it done and get it done as soon as I can. For the next two years, I'm going to not only be going to work on a full time basis (40+ hours per week), but I'm also going to be going to school full time, too. I've got priorities that I have to get in order and when you're spending about 5K for one three-month semester of college, you've got to focus your attention on your studies.

Therefore, I'm not going to be able to have the time and attention to detail that's needed to be the Lead Pimp Writer.

Folks, I want you to help me welcome in PimpRig's newest Lead Pimp Writer, IronSerif!!!

He's a great guy that's going to do great things in great places. He just himself graduated from college so no longer can he use school as an excuse. Basically, I just sent him a PM saying that he's got the job and I don't want to hear any backtalk out of him. Just kidding. IS was extremely excited about taking on the new position and looked at the challenge with hope and anticipation.

Where am I going? Why...no where, of course. I'm simply going to be reverting to Pimp Writer status, submitting my article every Monday for publication for as long as IronSerif and the Three Wise Men will have me. I'll still be on staff but won't carry the big, imaginary club that I used to carry.

You did a great job, as did those before you and as I'm sure IronSerif will. It is quite demanding to coordinate schedules and ensure that the DD is finished on schedule. I have the utmost respect for all of you DD writers. I believe you meant the 3 Stooges, though.

Wow. Rob, Rob, Rob! I know myself personally, am going to miss you as the lead pimp writer here. However, I can definitely understand your situation. All I can say is best of luck at ITT, and best of luck in whatever else you choose to do!

This has no doubt been discussed for a while now between staff....it seems the DDLW position is cursed . Well I hope Iron serif can crack on...you did really well Rob, no one can doubt you over that...and lifes' path always comes first before anything else.

Experience has tought me that 40 Hs of work and 40 hrs of class each week
is not to be taken lightly. For 2 years I worked nights, the grave yard shift,
and went to class most of the day.

Congrats Rob for having the initiative to improve on the knowledge you have.
It's good to see you won't be dissapearing completely.
A little advice as a parting gift, chewing gum and sunlight are good alternitives to
CoH as your play time has been all but squelched.

Congrats IronSerif we look forward to your work. Although the shoes will be hard to fill
I'm sure you will carve a nice niche for your self.

Well your writings will be missed. I can understand though. The way things are lately you have to do what you have to do to make things better for you. I'm sure most people on here will understand. It's hard going to school full time and working full time. Stick with it though it will be worth it in the long run. Best of luck man!

Unfortunately, I got the impression that some of you think that I'm leaving all together. Thankfully, that isn't the case. I'm only stepping down as the Lead, not quitting the team altogether (which I don't think I could ever handle). You'll still see my same tripe...er, writings, every Monday.

I can understand your decision to step down as leader.
Sometimes being a leader is more of a pain than it is worth.
In my CS clan, I dont really want to be a leader any more, just a player.
Sometimes the preasure just gets to you and you just need some time to relax.
Good luck with future ventures in writing Rob and I cant wait to see some of the things that IS will make.
