Default Protect yourself... online!

Okay, so more and more people are gettin' their "Good Name" ripped off by some jackass who decided that rippin' you off is easier than working for a living.

Below, I'll show ya a bit on how this works, and how to protect yourself!

THE SCAM:

Basically, your entire life is accredited to your Social Security Number (SSN). As I studied the arts of Private Investigation, I can tell ya, your SSN can tell a person a HELL of a lot about you.

Examples include:

  • Have you been in prison?
  • Credit rating
  • Education
  • Military Background
  • What Cars and Real Estate is in your name
  • Where you work
  • What Schools have you attended

The list goes on. Now then... I've recently read about some poor dude who got his Identity ripped off by a career criminal who keeps managing to land this guy in prison! The criminal gives the other guy's SSN and guess who the cops go gunning for when the asshole breaks his parole?

Also, I've read multiple accounts of identity theft where a thief will max out several credit cards IN YOUR NAME.

Maybe pull a loan, buy a car, max the cards, drain your bank account... the list goes on.

HOW TO PROTECT YOURSELF:

NEVER give your SSN over the phone (especially a Cell Phone or Hand Held).

Don't put your SSN on your checks, and do not use your SSN as your Driver's License Number!

If your wallet is stolen, report it immediatly! Also, you may want to petition for a new SSN... otherwise, you could plan on several months, or even YEARS of frustration from a person you'll probably never get the chance to beat to death with claw-hammer.

Credit cards make life easier, but they also increase your risk. You're trusting everyone, at every company you use it at... also, you're trusting every employee at the credit card company not to grab that all-so-important Social Security Number.

Basic rules... any number attached to your name, you might wanna keep close to your chest, and outta sight!

Ice... have you been to college? You know your shiznit, so it appears to me you probably did a class somewhere... Filed for a driver's license in the state you're in? There are ALWAYS paper trails...

You used business accounts... that means you worked for a company (SSN required by law), or even if you started it up, it requires a SSN to get the business name...

Believe me... I only did the classes (yeah... my SSN is in the system), I'm not licensed as a PI. A real PI...or a cop... or a fed... or a criminal who knows how the system works can probably tell you a helluva lot more about yourself than you thought was out there...

Slak... removing your fingerprints seperates you from 99% of the population... it makes you VERY easy to identify as the scar patterns act as a fingerprint...

Ain't I just a ray of sunshine?
