Whoa, hey! Did I doze off there? Sorry about that. Let me get on with my FIRSTEST EVER DAILY DISTURBANCE POST!!!

As some of you may have already deduced, IÂ’ve been asked (and honored) by the staff here at PimpRig to step in for a wonderful staff member who just didnÂ’t have the time anymore to continue posting on a weekly basis. Anathema dear, I just wanted to say that I had a really good time when you and Scapegoat crashed at my house (with Godfoot) a couple weeks ago and that we are all still looking forward to you coming back and posting a recipe or two.

To begin with, IÂ’d just like to introduce myself quickly to those of you out there who may not be familiar with who I am.

Believe it or not, yes, my first name is Rob. Nothing too witty about that and yes, it does lack originality. Born and bred in the buckle of the Bible-belt, I was a little too discontent to spend my remaining years locked in the captivity of “sameness”. The wild geese were honking too loudly for me not to notice so off I set into the real world in search of adventure.

As a result of hearing those sounds in my head, I’m a Navy five-year veteran, a Magna Cum Laude graduate of a Bachelor of Science degree from a highly respected school in that field (and beginning work on my masters), and have lived in quite a few places around the world, moving (to date) 29 times in the past 16 years. Was almost married twice (thankfully they were heartless harlots who chose another path) and no kids that I know of. Although I have great parents and siblings, everything about me today is a result of my persistent hard work and dedication, never taking “no” for an answer (except in the case of a protection order), and always moving forward the best way I know how. To borrow a quote from one of my most favorite of movies (“Forrest Gump”)…my mama always said life was like a box of chocolates…you never know what you’re gonna get.

I came to PimpRig much in the same way others have found a religionÂ…on my knees, lost and confused, and thirsting for that knowledge that fills the soul and calms the mind. I donÂ’t have a lot of computer knowledge, but IÂ’m always able to learn something new everyday here at PimpRig. To save you time, you can read about it here, here, and here.

ThatÂ’s pretty much the quick and dirty version of my lifeÂ’s history as I donÂ’t want anyone falling asleep on me yet. Although proud, I never really like to toot my own horn (you know what I mean). Now I want to give everyone a heads up on what IÂ’m looking forward to providing my fellow Pimps with a promise that they won't be as long as this post is.

Since I’ve been asked to post on Sundays and Mondays, I’d like to use my Sunday post as a means to get some of our lurkers who may not feel too comfortable posting to come out of the darkness a while. To do this, I’m going to try to have my Sunday post be sort of a beginner’s guide to computer hardware, software, and modding. Had it not been for Jonny English and Aaron Kelly being so kind, I might not have stuck around with the types of questions I had asked. So, to all you “noObs” out there that feel intimidated, drop me a Private Message (or PM) and if I don’t know the answer, I’ll find someone who does.

MondayÂ…these are the days to look forward to! To lighten the burden of a new work week, IÂ’d like to post something that will kickstart that mind of yours and getting it up and running for the coming week. Something that would make you sit back, give you a little grin while barely nodding your head, and saying to yourself, “yeahÂ…Â…thatÂ� �€™s cool”.

IÂ’m really looking forward to providing the best that I can for the Daily Disturbance crew and to the Pimps out there in PimpRigland.

I'm looking forward to your DD posts, especially the Monday posts. When Jonny asked to bring another writer on staff, it was just about unanimous that you were the best prospect. I've always enjoyed your pragmatic writing style and am sure that we ain't seen nuthin yet.

KC and the Sunshine Band did not record "Play that Funky Music". It was a band from Steubenville Ohio named Wild Cherry. Just a friendly FYI.
