What is it with Utilitiy companys?

Why is it when you go to do something with the utility companies,
they get the sudden case of amnesia?

I have been paying an electric bill here in this state for over
eight years. All to the same company. You would think that after
that long they would have a record of my paying bills.

But oh no. I have to go and get records and dig up cancelled checks
to prove that I have had service or suffer the deposit of 250 bux.

Now here is the catch. If I was a new state resident and this was my first service with them, It would only cost 50bux and they would bill me that, with the first bill. Go Figure...
Don't think I didn't want to just say that I'm a new resident, I thought about it for a second. Only problem is if they do dig through their files, they will find me, and then what?
Probably a 500 dollar deposit?


And then we have our beloved Phone company. Just this side of the two TIN can method. I have been suffering the last 10 months of a actual
connection speed of no more than 24kb/s. Dead dog slow in any circle...
Well we call them to tell them we want our service moved to the new place on the first. Seemed OK. They agreed that they would have the service disconnected here at the old place on the 31st and the new place would have service on the 1st or the 2nd. A tidy sum of 67 dollars seemed fair enough, to flip a switch somewhere. Well you guessed it, they disconnected it the day we called them, after I absolutly told them we need the phone till the end of the month.

Well I am all done ranting about the utilities, I guess the customer
isn't always right...My temples have been pounding all day, Hide the ammo, it's time to relax...ZENNZZO style

I've danced with PP&L once myself. Yah... just ain't fun.

yeah, i'm prety sure they give an IQ test to all applicants and only hire those who fail. 'specially Nextel Customer Support.
