Yeah, I've been bad too.
This is dealing with recent events, both with our own members/forums and crossforum relations.
This is the way I see things. There is a lot of fun to be found in spamming a forum, if it's not your own. But, the fact is, every time we do it, we invite it upon our own. And, while it may be a risk you are willing to take, I and the other staff members may not want to deal with the fallout if someone gets vindictive. If it were to happen, dollars to doughnuts there would be repercussions for our own members. This statement is not made in discussing with other staff/admins but on the fact that I realize that if we spam someone and they spam us back, we spammed first. That is
mea culpa, personal responsibility.
To say that they are stupid because they post here is to be guilty of an
abuse ad hominem, an attack on their intellect without knowing anything of it. The fact is, googling on ******** turns us up as first hit. That would logically mean that posting in our anything gaming would turn up new ******** online gamers. But, since there are so many of them, and so few RO players here, I wonder how they would communicate among themselves that
PR is non-RO friendly.
Discipuli et discipulae, the thing is, we could do other things to get them to stop. We may have engineered a large-scale spam war upon ourselves in our arrogance. Don't get me wrong, I think we should find a way to stop the insanity, but the thing is I think we messed it up.
You know, I actually think I'm gonna check out RO, cause I normally only play RPGs. I'll report back if I'm not sucked in or killed.
Feel free to flame me. I'm not afraid at all. The fact is, if I make a statement, I'm man enough to stand behind it.
