| Direct Cool Hoe | A big shout out... I often wondered after reading a review, about the kind of time and work that went into these things. All to easy to post a one liner like, "nice write-up", "good job" or "way to go". I thought it was hard to come up with interesting and funny articles from the ongoing antics of a computer entusiast. But I am here to tell ya. Doing a review takes some serious thought and alot of time. As you might know our very own ROKK1972/CPUKiller is the designer of the popular RBX water cooling block. He is a design engineer by trade. He designs Medical gear for aircraft like airambulances, helicopters and such.He provided Slider and Myself a set of pre-production samples for our use and that gave us miles of smiles. So the questions came up...How good are these new blocks, what are the temps like? How do they compare etc... I figured the least I could do was do the lab testing and post the results, simple, easy no problem. Hah!... for the last 20 hrs more or less I have been watching the temp gauge, recording numbers, figuring tDelta's, Changing out Blocks and belive me. If you think the 24hr leak test on the first system you built is nerve wracking, try a 5min leak-test then run it in your favorite rig. That will test your ability to properly rig your cooling system. My hat goes off to all the folks who bring you these excellent articles. Not only for their time but their nerves to make these things work right and be represented properly. All the research that must be done to get the great write-ups that are here... I will have the results to the H20 cooling block round-up, here real soon. In the mean time, Thanks again for all the work and effort that the reviewers do to make Pimprig look and read so well... Kudos Pimps, I really can appreciate what you do for us all...Well there you have it, droopy eyed and crunching numbers till dawn ZENNZZO style. ![]() | |

| I agree with you Zennzzo, these guys (and gal) are taken for granted and underappreciated even though they do splendid work for us. I look forward especially to the water cooling reviews along with the cases and mod supplies. Of course, my favorite part of the site is the project worklogs. Shows off the many ideas and techniques to achieve the same results as another using different methods. Great job guys! | ||

| Thanks Zen, although I really enjoy doing the reviews, comparisons, and write-ups, most folks don't realize the many, many hours of thought, research, and testing that goes into each review. Most staff members who took on their first review have pretty much said the same thing; "Damn, I didn't realize how much work is involved!" I couldn't tell you how much money I've spent on support and replacement equipment to ensure that our reviews are valid and relevant. But it's all worth it to hear the feedback and thoughts from our members. Trust me, things are getting better and better in the review arena, and we should have some real quality gear to show ya'll in the near future. | ||

| nice write-up", "good job" , "way to go". Sorry I had to. I my self could never write a review. I don't have the skill to do it. I always find my self at a loss for words in that regard. Writing a review for a product is tough, giving all the pertinant info, and answering questions that aren't always asked or even thought of. | ||

| Thank you for the kind words. It IS a great deal of hard work. But as Putwig said, it's a labor of love. It's a pleasure to work with a bunch of guys who manage to keep everything a step above. Yet manage to bring a bit of humor in and keep it real and accessable to everyone. This groups got a ton of smarts, drive and heart. | ||

It realy has changed alot around here since I first found this site, you guys started out doing what you love, and have finally started to reap the rewards of all your hard work, Congrats! I love reading reviews by all the staff here, everyone has a unique style, the personality shows through...I can't tell you how boring a review is if it's all just about the numbers Looking forward to the next gen hardware reviews...things have been a little slow, I hated waiting for the new gen of Vid Cards, and the 939Pin AMD is just about here!! ![]() | |||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Yeah, the reviews are great and all...and that's just the problem. It makes me lazy. With all that accurate info, testing, comparing, benchmarking and real-world experience, now I can't go and buy incompatible products, go through the RMA process, fry components, frag my OS....and whine, blaming it all on crappy products/software in the forums. Because of the mod reviews, now I can't just duct tape a cold-cathode to a saran-wrap window and be proud...I have to do "clean" work, sleeve my wires, do 3-5 coats of paint instead of just slapping a sticker on, test my watercooling before slapping it in still dripping. Just cut it out already...you're making me work my @$$ off... ![]() | ||

| Many thanks and appreciation to the review Pimps. You guys do a top notch job and these reviews add alot to the site and community in a big way. The same products you spend hours reviewing are the same ones we have roll around in our heads thru 10hr work shifts. On payday should I buy this or that? Trust me guys, your work and sacrifices are greatly appreciated, and rewards us all at the end of a work week when we lay that money down knowing the products been "Pimp Approved". ![]() | ||

| I can't tell you how many time's I've been disappointed in a product *coughSoyoP4x400cough*, but when I've gone through and read what is to be had here and elsewhere, I have made the decisions I truly enjoy. Thank you all for your time and your effort; it has been invaluable for all of us. Your dedication and skills are astonishing, and words cannot express the thanks we hold in our hearts for you. | ||

| I'm a little late on this thread, but I felt like it was worth saying it. Pimprig, no matter how much everybody's said it's grown, is still a small site. We're not about to get a link on slashdot for a review. I wouldn't expect for anybody I talk to to have heard of it. However, you wouldn't be able to tell by looking at the reviews. All of them are very professional, very thorough and informative. When I read a PR review, I don't feel like I need any further research. And of course, they're written by people we know. Great job to all the reviewers! | ||
