when I raced the motorcycles you
and DAD provided for me.
The weekends that you were hurting so bad you
couldn't stand, that didn't stop you
for giving me a clean sport to get good at.
I remember the practices where you would stand at the corners
and force me to take the tighter line, I'll never forget.

Mom, thank you for molding my youth,
even though I rebelled, and made you earn your gray hair,
It has made me become the Man, I am today.
I'm the honest person I am these days because
of those lessons you gave to me.
And by the way I still don't like the taste of soap,
but now I understand.
And most of all, thank you for not giving up on me, when I did.

Mom, I LOVE YOU with all my heart
for what you put into me, that words can't describe.
I'm sure DAD is listening to this, and He knows this as well.
I have found my niche, and I am happy,
and I am surrounded by the best group
of people I have ever hung out with,
I'm sure they will meet with your approval.
They don't lead me astray, they don't get me arrested,
we keep it clean and brutally honest here.
No drugs or talk of anything illeagal.
Bought time huh?

The cooler I was telling you about,
well it made a little appearence on TV just yesterday.
See all those things you let me take apart and put together
'er try to, when I was a kid?
Well it paid off, I'm not half bad at it now.
Remember when I cut the wires on my Yamaha
and it wouldn't work? I cried so hard.
Well today, I can wire a computer
and modify them to the extremes,
I learned from all that,

Well, I already started a thread for your mom's birthday but since you wrote that so eloquently, (and from the heart) I can't help but respond. We each have a lot of debts that can never be repaid to our parents, I only wish that we all come to realize it as our brother Benzzo has. Lord knows I deserved every whooping I received (and they would be considered abuse by today's standards) and I am thankful for the lessons I learned from them. It is heartwarming to know there are people out there that could raise someone as well as Benzzo has apparantly been raised (don't know if I would have the patience or restraint myself).
I hope you have a wonderful birthday Mommzzo, your son has done you proud!
