Well, I'm speechless... Good thing I can still type, though...
I'm still watching the opening ceremonies for the Beijing Olympics (how long ago were the OCs held?), and my jaw is on the ground...
The historical images displayed, scrolling slowly on the world's biggest LCD display (500 FEET LONG!!!

), contrasted by the "human paintbrush" dancers... I give the advantage to the dancers. To create the beautiful image that they did, on such a HUGE canves, and especially given their proportionally insignificant size, wow...
The Chinese printing blocks... Another jaw-dropper for me... The synchronization that went into the blocks rising and falling, dancing, and so on, something I thought was only possible thanks to computers and robotics. Nope, after the whole thing had gone on flawlessly for about 5 minutes, we were treated to actual "puppeteers" popping out the top of each block.
If you know of anyone who recorded the OCs, and you didn't see them yourself, GO WATCH THEM, I guarantee that you'll be stunned at the precision of the human participants. The computer-aided stuff is very nice, but pales in comparison to the "Human Element"...
