For a few split seconds today..I thought I saw my brains splatted all over the windshield of my car when I got T-boned by a car doing 65MPH.

And this is the how much room left on the inside of the drivers side..mind you this car is a HUGE Buick Roadmaster



I got hit sooo freakin hard..it busted the frame on it..and the driveshaft broke loose, amongst other things.






As I was leaving work today making a left...I saw the car coming at me and hit my brakes...she hit her brakes and locked them up...unfortunately instead of skidding away from me, it made her head DIRECTLY towards me.

As you may have heard, during a major accident....time does slow down.

I remember looking directly at her horrified face...and then KAAABAM!!!!

I felt the force of the impact on my left side, from my left leg up to my head... and my head was thrown to the right..so all I had was that view of all that red and white goo all over the dash, windsheild, and headliner.

I thought "Wow..those are my brains..I'm going to die in about 3 seconds from now!"

There was about 3 more heartbeats...and thought to myself, that is REALY odd... I don't feel any MAJOR pain, since that is exactly how I had heard it's supposed to happen, Ya know, your brain dumps tons of chemicals (Endorfins?) in an emergency so you don't feel the pain right away.

And then I looked over to the empty passenger seat..and thats when it dawned on me.

There had been a small styrofoam to go box of "Mastacolli" sitting there that I picked up for dinner later in the lunchroom..and that was not my brains all over the dash!

Disturbing? yes.. So I think this certainly qualifies to be filed in this section today.

Oh..BTW

I received some very nice bruises, but nothing broken or shattered..other than in my mind for that few milliseconds!!!

Just take it easy, the worst of it is in the days following. I've been in a wreck like that and you really don't feel it till later. Glad to hear you are doing good otherwise.

I do hope you are getting a full check up. You are right about the endorfins and can't forget about adreniline either. You might not feel anything at the moment, you will feel something later. I hope nothing serious comes of this for you. Good thing though, you actually walked away from that, which is a good sign.

Seriously dude, get your spine checked out. It's possible to get into a wreck; look and feel fine, and have a spinal injury that is getting worse everytime you move.

On a lighter note, looks like "contents may have shifted during flight" as looks like your stereo and climate control were trying to hide in your dash!

I'm VERY GLAD you are ok. Any car wreck you can walk away from is a good one, I guess.

The whole pasta thing is kind of funny in a sick and twisted way... Maybe this would not be the best time to ask to pick your brain about some OCing, though... (ok, ok, that was a bad choice of words)

Glad to hear your okay Mr. Necro! They sure dont make cars like that anymore. Good thing it was a nice good sized heavy vehicle, or else the unfortunate would have been tragic. Oh and get that spine checked out. I was in an accident 5 or so years ago and to this day i still have neck problems.
