Default Sharon Stone... humanitarian of our time.

Well...

I guess it's too late to say I'm from Canada...

Sharon Stone suggests China quake was ‘karma’ - Celebrities - MSNBC.com

So... I guess... what? Was Huricane Katrina caused by the fact there was a lot of crime in N'Orleans?

Just to give you the skinny (Low-cal version), Sharon Stone... in her infinite wisdom... tells a Chinese reporter that she believes that due to the situation with Tibet, China's earthquake was karmic. Soooo... I guess five million people dead, homeless, "hurt", etc is divine punishment for...

Cranking out cheap crap for America so we can get a discount at Wal-Mart? Skinning live animals for her effin' coats? Trying to scrape together a livin' like the rest of us here on planet earth?

Is the Chinese government a benevolent force of happy sunshine... uhh... no. Do the common people who probably don't really have much of a say in politics deserve to suffer "karmic" payment for actions of those in power? Do they really need a stupid, sanctimonious, egotistical, bitch to tell them they deserved it?

This is almost on par as Madonna saying she was "ambassador of Judiasm".

Well on that note... Uhhh, my name is Wayne Mable from Can-eh-da den 'eh.

I saw that on the news Dark. It disgusts me how actors are portraid as 'experts' on the news.

As far as Karma, I really hope she does believe in it. I don't think she will be too happy with her future if she really does..

I'm with Eric on this. The worst thing about this bit of news is that the reporter actually thought Sharon Stone could contribute something on this other than her lack of acting skills. Time after time news mediums go to some actor thinking either having them say something will sell or god forbid have something wise to contribute. Also it's beyond comprehension when these actors think because of their social status that they should actually become political figureheads telling people what to think. And the worst part is that the ones who usually do are hypocrites or the some of the dumber actors.

Hmmm...

The way I saw it, Sharon Stone was ASKING if the recent earthquakes in China were karmic retribution for China's treatment of Tibet.

That's different [very slightly but different] than saying it WAS karmic retribution.

And I think Sharon has the right to ask the question. Just like I do.

That is, if I chose to believe in karma, God, the Easter Bunny, the Lorax, etc etc etc.

That the media chooses to cover it as 'news' continues to amaze me.

Not if it was a retorical question, which im guessing it probably was. Thats as good as saying "it WAS karma".

As Bruce Willis once said, What makes an actor an authority on anything besides acting?
