Default The supertuner concept...

Last one this week, thought we could have some fun before I went...

I've noticed a trend.

400, 430, 450, 457...

The numbers keep climbing. It's normally a few select people, on ungodly amounts of voltage, who don't cut their hair or shave while OCing...

Recently I pulled a 500 synchronous, on a 65 dollar board. By the reckoning of some, that makes me a supertuner. But, I have another idea.

No, I don't cut my hair or shave when working on a system. I pull lots of voltage. I do ODD things with hardware. But, there's another factor... I did it on luck. Not on skill.

Now, I'm taking the cue from REAL supertuners, logging, testing, tweaking, and turnin off the lights... All not for the last bit of power, but ultimate stability at high speed.

Who do I list as supertuners?

j-dogg, for awesome legacy pimpin, when we all abandoned it...

ZENNZZO, for extreme water cooling, but also for imparting the knowledge...

Digital-World, because of the time he's invested in teaching others to tune...

and all the younger kids who OC it till it smokes when they can't replace it. That takes bawls. More power, brothers...

See, supertuners aren't just the 5GHz P4, but the kid running 200x12 on what he can't replace, cause he knows that overclocking is the bomb...

You can place me where you want, I get parts occasionally from work, but I've killed it with no replacement too...

I'll be back soon, same pimp-time, same pimp-site, same PimpRig!

That is TOO True.... I have yet to OC my first PC... My P4 2.2 Northie is on a POS ECS Intel board so thats a no go... and I dont have a good enough HS on my AMD systems (which are not in operating condition *missing parts*) but when they were they stayed stock.. (one is a 1700DUT3C which should have a good OC Potential) Nice article bro...

oh snap I am a supertuner........

I have always loved pimping it up old skool, it brings back fond memories of when I used to trade big for a 4 gig HDD I remember back in the day when all my buddies were afraid to overclock and/or rip the heatspreaders off their K6-2's, my friends thought I was crazy when I was pushing my 400 to 550 on a 2.8 VCore. These were the same people who though 300 at 350 was a huge OC and that AMD had a built-in OC protection feature that wouldn't let you OC 50MHz more than their rated speed

NJ Kayin great to see ya back

Ahhhhh yes the days of the K6-2 reminds me of when I smoked my K6-2+ 550 which back then I was the real tru hardware pimp, the K6-2+ when I had it was like todays Athlon FX-53, fastest thing at the time and I smoked it trying to hit 616 crappy jumper block array

Even though he has me with 366 @ 522 I got ya back with my 153 MHz FSB Duron 1.4 @ 1.63 stable in 3DMark2001, which my computer runs all the tests unlike his.

I also got ya back with my l33t spelling skillz and off the hook grammar beeeeeeeiiiiitch

Oh, wait, did I forget to mention that I'm not afraid to rip off the heatspreader, even though you taught me remember who fried their 500 because of a crappy heatsink, had you left the heatspreader on it might have had more time to live

d00d rip the heatspreader off the 350 in yer laptop it might run a little cooler, yer so worried about heat in hyer laptop yet your 366 @! 522 runs at 70*C, or rip the HS off a 400 or a 450 and put that in there.

Oh yah, one more thing, dual Celery 366 @ 522 beats my 400 @ 550 @ 2.8V but my 400 @ 550 idles at 37*C because of my l33t cooling skillz, wire organization and copper heatsink, while your 366's have another month or two to live since they idle at 70*C

Will your dual 366 @ 522 run 3DMark2001 SE?
