Well... I couldn't decide on a single topic to write on... so I decided to do several.

1. Anime!

Check out "Paprika" if you're an anime fan. The end felt a little tacked on, but the movie itself was pretty freakin' cool.

2. Computer lust

I've received every one of my parts EXCEPT THE FREAKIN' MOTHERBOARD and my two video cards. I might have been able to actually build my freakin' system if I had maybe had the motherboard and if they could have left out the optical drive or something for next round, it would have helped! Dammit, I have New Year's day off, and I was hoping to do get it up and running. As it was, I won't get my motherboard until after any hopes of me getting time off.

Also, school starts again for me on Jan. 6th, so it's going to get worse!

3. I have decided I don't need a life...

I just filled out the paperwork and submitted the financial aid forms... guess who's going undergrad?

Hell... I'm probably going for my Masters... only three more years of no sleep, limited free time and lots of stress...

4. I hate cell phone companies... nothing like being offered "such a deal!" on the phone you buy with your plan... then you can upgrade cheaply after two years. Which means unless I want to pay $500.00 for a phone, I'll be waiting until mid-2009. Yeeha...

5. Fans of Mystery Science Theater:

If you've been in the dark, check out "The Film Crew" (the MST3K crew has managed to put out four new movies under a new premise). Also, check this out: Welcome to RiffTrax!

"Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" and "The Matrix" were the best picks (so far, I haven't watched them all)... Indiana Jones was pretty good as well!

7. All work and no play makes... uhh... me. Dah!

Regardless, I'm still playing OniMusha 3: Demon Seige. No bad, but I don't really like playing Jacques that much. The Indiana Jones-esque feel of the whip is cool, but I prefer sword-wielding samurai.

Anyway... hopefully I'll be able to coax my brain to produce more meaningful content later... but right now I'm a little giddy from not being at work at the moment with no homework due. I'm sure I'll return to your regularly scheduled postings once the pressure is back on...

The only Anime I've ever really liked is Gantz. Even then, the ending was terrible, but the ride was great.

Mystery Science Theater rules.

Ah...... NO...

Anime? Nope... I am not really into Anime/Manga/Japanimation. None of it ever really appealed to me, especially with the butchered transliterations of character names and whatnot...

UPS waiting, we've all been there at one time or other... 'nuff said

College bitching? It's been about 13 years since I was in an institution... of "higher learning", so to say, so I vaguely remember those days...

Cell phones? Sprint sucks, AT&T sucks, they all suck... They're in it to make money hand over fist from us, and at the lowest possible price to themselves...

The books I've been reading lately will probably make for a nice snoozefest around here, unless folks are more into Sun Tzu's Art of War and Stephen Lawhead's Pendragon and Celtic Crusades series than I would think...

MST3K, well... I got a couple giggles here and there from the spoofing/overdubbing of some of the movies they played with, but never really became a die-hard fan...

Folks that take a minute here and there to read what I write know that I am, for the most part, "all over the place" as far as topics myself... Just saying I had a DD post all lined up and ready to go, and log in to find you posted first... Something to do with Baghdad being 9 hours ahead of CST, I think... Will have to see if I can't remedy that over the next couple of months...

Well, as nothing had been posted in awhile, I figured I'd just hack away... when you said I beat you to it, I figured I'd dabbled into one (or more) of the topics you'd chosen.

Anyway, "The Art of War" wasn't a bad book. Best teamed with "Budoshoshinshu" -Daidoji Yuzan, "Bushido: The Warrior's Code" -Nitobe and "The Book of Five Rings" -Musashi (of course, that would assume one was more martial arts minded instead of military minded... so I guess it's up to the individual). I'll have to check out the other two you mentioned... I should probably follow my own Celtic heritage one of these days.

As for anime; I usually watch it in Japanese and read the subtitles when I can't translate (I'm still learning)...

Good luck on getting home soon... I'm sure as hell glad I'm not out there!

Yeah, I noticed the lack of recent posts, too... That's why I started brainstorming and got one ready...
