Talking Just purchased a new toy...

In the form of a Nintendo DS Lite. Yep, I did it.

After spending some weeks viewing DS sites, forums, and reading news/game reviews, this little gaming machine grew on me.

And honestly, the biggest reason I got one...the casual game department. Who would have guessed it.

After feeling the waves that the original Brain Age caused and then getting addicted to Picross, I couldn't resist. Yes, my attention span seems to consitently get shorter, so these logic puzzles along with the DS was the perfect combination for quick 10-15 minute games anywhere and anytime I wanted.

Looking at the date, I purchased my Wii exactly 1 month ago. I never would have thought I'd buy a DS in such a short time from when I purchased the Wii. I guess it's been a Nintendo Month for the IronSerif household.

Perfect timing too, because the DS was released in a new color, Cirmson and Black, and was packaged with the ever so addicting Brain Age 2. It even came with a snazy chic-esque case.

Nice little package. I'm talking about the DS package...

As far as the game goes, your brain will definitely be put to work just after a few minutes into it. Just wait till you do the Rock, Paper, Scissors exercise...it actually makes you think.

So now parts of my evenings are spent playing Wii sports, and then training in Brain Age 2. I think my fiance has spent more time on the DS than I have...

What has the Big N done...

How much did the package set you back and where did you purchase it? My parents are going to Florida and this sounds enticing.

I purchased the package from Target, of course I called to make sure they had it because the two Wal-marts I was planning on visiting were sold out. The package retails for $149, which is a pretty sweet deal as it comes with a pretty nice case that also holds 3 games. I still may end up getting a poly carb case in the future though.

Go ahead and get one, you definitely won't regret it!

Hm, Target.com doesn't show the bundle....weird. I believe it's just called Nintendo DS Lite with Brain Age 2.

I've been addicted to Advance Wars DS...boy can lose yourself in that game.

I've read a lot of reviews for Puzzle Quest and all of them seem positive so that's on my list too...as well as Pokemon believe it or not lol. I never got into any of the previoius games but whenever you read a review about it it's always an 8.5 or 9 out of 10...so who knows...maybe I'll be picking it up after all!

Did you end up getting one?

I thought about getting one souly for the purpose of linking up with a friend and playing him during driver's ed but I've decided that it would be a pricey toy for only that long. Plus consoles and those kinds of things always become old. Nintendo is still legit and probly the coolest gaming company or whatever....ever? anyways nice buy.

I bought one for my son (promised him I would if he got A's on his report card) and it's awesome. My other son will be getting one too; I like the whole wireless download play thing; 2 people can play head-to-head with one cartridge, and no cables.

BTW Pokémon Diamond is awesome

Well it seems my parents misinformed me of their arrival date or the hurricane had some effect, but they're not due back until tomorrow (2 days won't kill me ). But my fingers are a little sore from being crossed all the time

Edit: Just noticed Joose's entry about one cartridge but multiconsole multiplay, that is freaking sweet :O

I agree the single kart wireless/multiplayer is awesome. I haven't had a chance to try it out myself but I see my two nephews use it all the time and it's a blast.

Have you tried out Pokemon Diamond yourself? I watched one of my nephews play his copy and I honestly say that now I know how it can be so addicting. It's actually a pretty deep game once you get past their cutness

Yeah I've played it myself...it's hilarious because my boys and I will discuss together which characters to trade for and my wife is like 'WTF are you talking about?'
