Default PC problems

Well gang, I'm sorry about the lack of post this weekend. I've checked in a few times, and I had a killer article (well... maybe not killer, but it wasn't bad!) idea... I can't stand to leave my PC on long enough to write it.

I'm having a few problems I'll need to address here shortly and school is killin' me.

My hard-drive blew it's partition, but only part of it. So, I'm having problems associated with that, plus my GeForce 5900 card decided it was time to have it's fans die a loud, horrible, lingering death... so leaving my PC on is drivin' me nuts. I have a new GPS HSU on order through our pals at FrozenCPU, but I'm not sure when I'll get it.

School is taking a lot more of my time than usual. I've never been much a programmer, and I'm having to learn very quickly!

Anyway, I'll try to get something up next weekend.

Thanks,

-David "DarkSamurai" Hunter

Well... I swapped out my first HSU off my GPU....

Managed to have the RAM chips survived, but broke off a piece I'm not sure exactly what it does... I'm going to have to look it up, but my graphics look okay so far...

Also, the aftermarket heatsink I bought is too damn big... it fits in my case like gum between teeth.

Oh well, I've been meaning to get a 6000 series for awhile

I feel your pain bro!!
It's especially a pita when you got things to get done
Good luck gettin' it sorted, and hope to see ya 'round soon!
Are you on about your cpu's hsf?? if so on some they give you the option of running fanless if you need to, plus you may beable to re-possition the fan?!
I had the same problem installing my scythe ninja into my soprano case.
First problem I encountered was the heatpipes trying to crush some of the Nb's capacitors,
Luckely I could turn the hsf 45* but then the soprano's side panel was being warped by the fan on the ninja!
Fortunately they have given the option of running the ninja fanless or you can remount the fan in a different direction! This'll kinda show you what I mean............

Nah dude, this is my GPU (video card). My GeForce 5900 runs pretty warm, and I could only find one replacement between FrozenCPU, Newegg and Directron. With my MSI board it was a real pain as the hard-drive IDE cable was in the way!

Anyway... I'll try to get an article up here soon... I slept through this weekend and needed to catch up around the house a bit!

Peace out!
