| Last week I took everyone down memory lane with regards to some of the Organizers and PDA's that I've used, and now I'd like to put show off some of the software that I use on my Pocket PC that help me get through the day. My goal here is not to give out full-blown reviews, but more of a quick summary of what these software offer and why they're so helpful. But as usual, who knows what the end result will be lol ![]() I guess we'll find out...so here we go. First up in the limelight is...PhoneAlarm by Pocketmax. ![]() The biggest feature that attracted me to this software was the ability to display missed calls, voice mail, SMS, email messages, battery indicator, signal strength, and profile selection all from the today screen. The built-in notifaction is mediocre at best, but it never gives you any real detail. But with PhoneAlarm you get all the details just by glancing at the Today Screen. Speaking of the Today Screen, being able to setup and switch between profiles right from the Today Screen is a life saver. Going to a meeting? No problem, switch from home/normal mode to meeting/silent mode. Aside from having a ton of options to customize for each mode, you can even set profiles to automatic switch between themselves. I love this feature. Love it love it love it. I set it to switch to Work mode (everything is on vibrate) automatically at 8:30am and switch back to home mode (everything as loud as feasibly possible) at 5:30 pm. Best thing ever. ![]() Want to know another awesome feature? Good, cause I'm gonna tell you. It's repeating alarms. There might be times I'm away from my phone for an extended period of time and I'll forget to check my phone but might have a stack of text messages or missed calls just sitting there. Well with repeating alarms you can set how often you want your phone to remind you that you just missed a call for that job interview or that second date. ![]() The last feature I absolutely love? Skins. Gotta love'em. With a few dozen skins floating around, and more in development, you can find the perfect match for your devices theme as well as finding skins that display more or less information, depending on your tastes. Some people may want as little information as possible to be shown while taking up the smallest amount of space. Others may prefer an information overload. You'll be sure to find one that fits your needs. PhoneAlarm offers a wealth of other features to explore, so check out the Pocketmax.net site and download the trial version. You definitely won't be wasting your time... | ||

| i like spb pocket plus, it does the repeating alarms, gotta say it nice to have three alarms wake me up, but even better if they all repeat 10 times every five minutes. Pocket plus also has the themes, the today plug in for desktop icons, and i have my mute button right out front. WiFiFoFum is a nifty app that searchs for wifi's in you area, its handy in public ares, if you plan on getting into a wifi(malls epecially) I also use the pocke tshell from spb, it handy for in school with its uber big analog clock. Gotta love pocket apps, keep listing the ones you use, id like to see different specs and such. | ||

| Yep I have SPB pocket plus as well, although I don't have it as a Today Plug In. I do have it as a custom tab on my Pocket Breeze today plug in. I'd like to start using Pocket Plus a bit more, but I just haven't had time to play around with it and customize it. Has a lot of options and functionality though. Although as an Alternative to Phone Alarm I did use the SPB phone suite. That was pretty good and served its purpose, but in the end I chose Phone Alarm since it allowed me to view battery/signal meters in the plug in on the today screen easily. | ||
