Nothing will be said against one of my all time favorites... The Blues Brothers shall always be cool. ![]() The rest of 'em, I can't believe I missed 'em! Revenge of the Nerds was almost a parody of itself... Top Gun ranks amongst those movies I rip on with malice. I haven't seen C.H.U.D in years! I'm gonna have to rent that 'un!

| Was the second Conan in 1980? I remember going home and telling Lokie that Conan the Destroyer was out and get dressed, we are going to the movies, and off we went. We had seen the first one and loved it at the time. Hey, at lest we had fun. | ||

| This thread kind of went on a tangent...many of the movies DS said were the worst movies of the 80's, were in fact some of the most entertaining. And a lot of the movies mentioned in subsequent posts were also some of the most fun movies of the day. I think it's wrong to hold an old movie up for comparison to modern movies; they were made for their time, and that time has long passed. There were a lot of TRULY bad movies made in the 80's that nobody has bothered to mention, maybe because--that's right--they were forgettable. Who can remember what happened in some of the Friday the 13th iterations other than the first and (maybe) the third (in 3D)? Now those movies really sucked. They failed as horror movies, and they weren't even good by the standards of those times. Halloween 3 was another stinker (diverging from the "Michael Meyers" story and going on about making tainted masks from pieces of Stonehenge that turned kids' heads into bugs). I remember seeing a remake of the Blob and that was some really awful movie-watching, right there. "It's Alive" was a kind of spooky movie about a killer baby. "Island of the Alive" was a later sequel that was really bad. From the comedy/spoof side, Hot Shots sequels were pretty stank too. On the action side, there was a Godzilla remake that was pure puke. Not the more recent one starring Matthew Broderick with Independence Day special FX, the one before that. And wasn't that movie "Showgirls", the one starring that bimb from "Saved By The Bell", Elizabeth Berkley, made in the 80's? That show was so bad it earned itself a Razzie award. I agree that both Stallone and Schwarzennegger made some real bombs in the 80's, I can think of Raw Deal for one, that was really skunky. First Blood was a good film with a good story, but the sequels were very forgettable. I loved Revenge of the Nerds! I went to that with my cousin and brother and it was laugh-out-loud funny! "What the f*ck's a 'frush'?" "Wtf's a 'robster craw'?" "We got bush...we got bush!" "Lamar's limp-wristed throwing style" "I got the ole cruise control set to 35!" ...Ahh there were so many memorable lines in that movie! Memories... Actually, Elizabeth Berkley was on Head of the Class, the show about the gifted class with Howard "Johnny Fever" Hessman as the teacher. But who's counting... ![]() | |||||||||||||||||||||||||

I must be gettin' old or something. Well, Part Deux and Showgirls still stunk. But I know I'm right about Elizabeth Berkley in "Saved By The Bell". The babe in "Head Of The Class" was Christine Haaje or something (cute redhead). Not sure about her name's spelling, too lazy to double-check it.
