Yep folks, I know the origin of asshat. In it's entirety...

It all started during the summer, shortly before I became a staff member. Hawklen and I would st up on IM and make jokes about things we saw in the threads, and we were running out of things to call people. Yes, we're that bored and creative.

So, in the midst of a spree that would turn my blue hair white, he busts the term "asshat," and we both promptly quit typing and laugh.

It doesn't see much usage, as it's just a private joke, until the days of the Great Monkey War. That, dear children, is when we had a war of whose monkey card in their computer was better, and degenerated after the monkey in my rig broke and wasn't funny anymore.

What does the monkey do? It makes your posts funny! And all mine would do was hoot and fling poo, so I had to replace it. Just in time, too, because the first real usage of the monkies was when Duck was viciously assaulted by a pair of Super Asshats, who denied that the ORB was even real, or what he said it was. It was a beautiful time, when PR banded together to support our favorite pugilistic fowl.

After that, the term crept further and further into our usage, until today, where anyone and everyone uses asshat. From inside joke, to common usage. *folds up storybook*

Now, as to what's happening here, I'm trowing myself on a bus for 2 days, to end up in sunny California, to look at a chance to leave AL forever! Friday night, I'll be back, and I'll have pictures to let you know what Pimp is putting me up!

*sniff* Brings back memories. Now, everytime I view a thread, someone says asshat. Even pimp_joose uses it in his sig. So now, everyone knows how this marvolous word came into being at PR

hehe...I remember reading that ORB thread...it was in my infancy here at PR *sniff* the memories...however I thought the first REAL proliferation of the term was with the procooling d!ckheads...nice to know where it originated from.

Actaully, I remember using it way before this summer. The first tim i seen it was a little under a year ago, in a gaming server's irc channel. i doubt the person who first used it there made it up, but it wasnt you. . Great word, i use it irl... its real fun when you start doing that.

That procooling episode was a dooosy huh. I had started the DD1.1 for INTEL and had been posting in the project feedback forum.
W/o a bunch of details, I ...(get this) , respectfully posted in the procooling forums, to correct a "coolng-gods" remark, as to DD watercooling not being possible. I said," it is ,I did it , and it works"....
Well before the smoke had cleared, Hawklen,BA,DUCK,AntiM,Myself,and others,
the "cooling-god",had been "BANNED/CENSORED" from the site..."some of us, permenatly.

O.M.G its been that long???? I printing out THE Asshat and it hung at work for years, in the office where only supervisors hung out ! I haven't worked in a year and a hafe. O.M.G. I have to get a life
