Well, some of my friends from far away are coming back this summer, so I figured I had to host a LAN in their honor! I have some extra semi-decent parts lying around, I think enough to assemble three cases. So my idea was this: build a case to hold my three extra lan-only cases in so they could be easily stored away. It's codenamed Triforce because A) It has three cases and B) Zelda owns.

I'm relatively new at modding, and not very skilled with power tools, so don't expect a lot. I do think it'll be an interesting project though.

I'll add the photo as soon as it's done pending.

Modding spawned from a desire to add features that you couldn't buy a computer with. Start with stuff that is functional, like handles, then go from there. Of course, anything Zelda-related would be appropriate. Maybe some jewels and hearts or something...

Yea, it'll have handles I just haven't put them on yet because it's drying. You also can't really see, but it has wheels on the bottom. Thanks for the support dude.

I'm not really going to mod the cases much, but expect a sweet lights system and stuff from the shelf.

Stuff to do
-Add lights (as soon as the parts come in)
-Paint final coat
-Put handles on
-Add electronics (network switch, power strip etc.)

I have an update for you guys. I put the final coat on and added the handles. Put the cases in and they fit great. I added some felt stickers on the bottoms of the cases (not visible) to make 'em slide easier. I've also put 2 of the computers together, but I dunno when I'll get the third one done. I need to find another dvd drive...

hows the ventilation on the lil guy in the center...looks a bit sandwhiched...hope he gets enough air.

He could Vent some holes on the top of the cases to the upper Area.

For ventilation, it has a back 120mm fan and a slot for the air from the 80mm on the side to go through s(The cutouts on the pic of the back). I probably won't put vents upward because the lighting will be on top

And sadly, only one of my parts came today (the molex to outlet inverter), so I can't do much more. Expect more in the coming days though.

the reason ur not getting to many responses is becasue ther isnt much modding going on so far. All taht ive seen u do so far is make a wooden box with 3 holes and full the holes with 3 identical cases. Im waiting for an update of pictures. Then ill leave a response.

Seriously though, I'm not saying I'm the best modder in the world... not even close. What I'm trying to do is make something functional that serves a purpose. Can I see some of your mods out of curiosity? Thanks for the feedback though... I guess....

EDIT: Hey, those aren't that bad. If you consider unoriginality a plus. Cathodes and a paint job are pretty leet. lol.

check my pictures then the blue case was done all by me and all the paint work on my main computer. And it doesnt seem liek anyone came to ur defense wen i made that comment so maybe i am right think about that.

What he is doing may not jaw dropping dremel work but he is doing something that serves a purpose and is totally custom. I'm not going to get in the midddle of an internet arguement... heaven forbid... but how about offering some constructive encouragement instead of smack-down?

JP - i like the idea of what you have done... maybe you could think about adapting the whole case into something practical like a table, some kind of gaming station? i dunno... let your imagination go wild lol (Also maybe a slightly more intersting shade of... baige?? for the paintjob hehe) Over all though looks pretty nice. Good job

I am with mark on this one. You definately bring a sense of anger to this thread and maybe it would be best if you just steered clear of it. I think he is doing a great job, I mean come on, you have to start somewhere. Some of us don't have the money or time to do mods that may or may not be as good as yours, but it just the point that he is getting off his a$$ and doing something functional.
