| ::EDIT :: I have decided to rename this forum / Rig to Test Rig since that is what all of my mods are on it test of my ability! ]The last time the I posted to Project work logs I got yelled at by just about everyone for the Sleeper. I tried to tell you that I had my hands tied. Now the following case is my personal machine and I have decided that I am done with stock cases. But I need help with some of this so I am going to post up what I have some concerns and let it run wild from there. This project is going to be called “Verderber†which is German for destroyer. This will be the baby brother to “Kobalt Verderber†which is still in the funding status. So this is what she looked like on Friday. I pulled out the dual Pentium II MoBo and put in the MSI Pentium 4 MoBo. ![]() I did more work but I have to get the rest of my images approved so that I can add them to the post Tell you more then! | I realy hate to see people get bashed for projects (Although some realy do deserve it) Not everyone has lots of money for the latest toys and might not have a lot of skills, but you have to start somewhere! I got what you were trying to do with the sleeper case, it might have worked if you had done something a bit more unique. Good luck on this one, you just had the last one in the wrong section, I think they were a bit harsh on ya...but then again, they did make a few good points. | Don't know about the bashing question must of miss it ,but i just like to say we all have to start from somewhere's with a project need it be a mod? or other pc problems we might have, but we should all stick together and the world as we know it would be a much nicer place to live in. And myself i think your project looks really good keep up the great work on it. | ||

| In my opinion, even if you never done it before and only replaced the mobo and got it to work. Thats a cool mod! to alot, upgrading your system is just ho hum... We all like to see alot of bling and ingenoius stuff. but modding I must say is all about the individual doing the mod. If that is what they want or can offord or do with the skills or budget they have then as long as the modder is happy with what they've done then thats a god mod wether or not the majority thinks so. The whole idea behind this site and all those like it including the very idea of modding anything is to do what you want with what you got or can afford that you think is cool. And btw I'm sorry I didn't see your sleeper but from what you want todo with this project I'll definitly keep an eye on the progress. And Happy Modding! ![]() | ||

| My Pictures have been approved Thanks PR Staff for the quick turn around… The rest of you guys thanks for the encouragment! Anyway I installed the Processor and this Cooler Master Vortex TX as you can see I also installed one of the Ultra Xconnect 500w PSU (I was able to get one of the last blue ones other wise I would link to it) for the money this is a great PSU. Mounted some blue and UV Cold Cathodes in the top… And on the bottom! Which look pretty good at night! And during the day… Now I want you to notice that the case panel has a hole in it, I have ordered a Acrylic window kit and will be cutting and installing it when it arrives later next week. Here is my problem though, The front bezel of the of the case sucks it has all this fodder that I don’t need and I want to have a channel like GPN does here it looks sharp but the problems are as follows. 1)The Mounting point is for a 80mm fan I want to go bigger say 92mm or 120mm depending on what will fit. 3)I also have all of this junk wired into the case front (it’s a fake fan controller?? (Only works if you set it every time you turn on the PC.)) HELP!!! I also want to put a 92mm blow hole in the top of the case… but that will come later! Let me know what ya'll think Last edited by denacopoliez; 05-January-06 at 06:21 AM.. | ||

| I would say yes you can cut out a hole for a bigger fan in plastic, just have to make sure when your cutting the hole you do not use to much of high speed cutting it because you do not want the plastic to melt when cutting the hole, i usually use a hole saw for cutting my holes, but you can use a dremel or a jigsaw whatever you have would work if you are looking for a perfect size hole diagram to get for 120mm fan you can use a blank cdr for a diagram works perfect. Your project looks cool nice job on it. | ||

| A
A Matrox Millennium G450 Dual Head - Two Monitors Trident Video Accelerator Cyberblade XP - One Monitor And when it all comes together it looks like this the following picture So I finnaly got to work on that window kit I got out and dusted off the Dremel and got out my drop cloths. I read up on mnptechs Dremel Guide which i have to thank him for, It made things SO much easier! The wife took these photos The cutting went well even thru the corners which i thought would get mucked up! I then Deburred the edges and brought it in to the office for the final touches. So the next part is the Molding strip wich took me a bit to get into place. Then the window went in like butter. All thats left is the Locking Strip! Yes i used the Plastic scraper to get the window inside the lip of the molding, my wife thought of that! I need to get the finger prints off but Blam!! And it Looks Sweet at with the lights on too! | Dena: The intake plate you linked to in my worklog was made specifically for Lian Li PC cases with a 120mm intake. That's not to say that they couldn't be adapted to your case, it just might take a little more work... You can also check out the fan grills that mnpctech.com has for sale, they might work a little better for you. The only problem I can foresee would be relocating the front panel stuffs that are right where you'd want to cut for that grill/intake plate, and still be able to have them fit the case aesthetically. If you decide to cut out that "fake" fan controller, you could always go for a bay device to handle the fans, and perhaps drill an access hole near the bottom front of the chassis for the audio/USB/FireWire cables coming from the front bezel. Plastic can be cut like the metal fronts you mentioned, although you'll have to set the Dremel (or whatever power tool you prefer) to a lower (slower) speed. If you run it too high, the plastic can melt back into itself as you're cutting through it. Going for a bigger fan in front can possibly cut down on some of the noise, while still maintaining a decent amount of airflow. If the front intake is an 80, I think you'd probably be better off to go with a 120mm fan. Place it inside the case and secure it so it won't move around. Ensure it covers the space for the 80mm, mark the corners and mounting holes. Fire up the Dremel and go to work. Good work on the window cutout, and props to the Mrs for the steady camera hand. Whenever mine is around, I try to have her take the snaps, otherwise I have to set up the shot, with the tripod and timer. Last edited by GrandpaNoob72; 08-January-06 at 04:03 PM..

I want a clean look and that stuff seems to have a clutered look! I still think i will mod the Lian Li stuff to my case i just like that look! Thanks for the tip about the plastic temps!
