Well, this is, project fantasy, my third mod ever done, and well, my first two, i like ot call them experiments, nothing to be proud of, but, i learnt alot in doing them, so basically, this mod will be, my best work yet, it will be my main rig, and im hoping to finish it by March 3rd, my local lan is that date, and well, who dosent like to show off so, without further adoo (or however you spell it) here she is:

Bought her off ebay a whilst back, been using her as a main rig, havent gotten a chance to ACTUALLY mod her, with school, football and all that jazz, well, life is jampacked with just, not enough time in the day

Dosent her butt look great? Im going to watercool her, two 120mm fans in the front with the two radiators, this thing will pack some heat

I started by making room for the 2 radiators. For me, moneys tight, i work at petland (local petstore for those who dont know), and well, they dont pay lots, i get shifts, just not alota money for those shifts, so ATM i can only afford one radiator, but, IMO, one should be fine for the time being.
Here i took out the rivets for the Hard Drives, i plan to get mounting brackets for my hard drives so i can put em up by my CD drives.

Thats it for now, ive got pics of all the amount of work that i did today, but, its on the camera, and the cameras upstairs, and im downstairs, and its 2:36 and night and well... im tired? ill post more in maby... 22 hours, when i have anothers day of work done, Theryll be more to be amazed at (btw if ur amazed now... im suprised)

Oe question though, you mentioned 2 radiators - do you already have a single fan one and are planning on upgrading to 2? If so, maybe instead you could sell the original one off and get a dual fan rad instead - looks like you have the room in the front for a big one anyways - just a suggestion

Yes, Tonks is a female character, one of the members of the Order of the Phoenix.... That looks like an Antec SX-1030 (or the Chiefect or Chenming variant) which is a really nice case to start with. Matter of fact my first real mod, Black Death, was that case. I am curious as to how you plan on putting 2 120mm rads in there and why not use 1 dual 120mm rad? But we will see. Well, theres another day of great, productive work, modding's fun aint it? And as for me being a she-modder, or a he-modder, well, ull find out soon enough.

Now, the radiator question. Ill be using 2 single 120mm, im gunna buy another one before i finish the mod. As for why i didnt use a dual 120, the ones i could find, for some reason, didnt fit in the slot, i dunno why, So i considered 2 single 120mm, looked at the measurments, and it fit

I got a fare bit done today, as much as i planned to get done, and the night is young, so maby i can get even more than expected done.

This mornin i got my taping done, i taped both sides of the case, and removed the handle. It took me a while but i decided to use Yuna and Auron pictured for the mod, to kinda, stick, with the theme, as much as possible. I used the Yuna picture from X-2, because well, the one from X, i didnt like to much, to, i dunnno, well, it just didnt look good, and this one, i thought looked great,



She cute no?, this is what it looked like on the case, all outlined free hand, and that pic will go behind the motherboard, the one with auron on it will be the window for the side seeing into the case



Fairly rough, nothing special, IMO, i like it so far

Most of today i spent Rough Cutting out the Yuna side, basically no special cuts completly rough and quite interesting, tomorrows plan is to sit down for who know HOW long, and make it smooth and even with the sander thingy, round all edges, make all the sides around it smooth and even

My cameras out of batteries, so excuse this pictures, so, im thinking the bottom part of her, that ull see in the cut, AND in the picture i posted of her, i think that little thing directly middle at bottom, needs to just go, i dunno, it just dosent look as if it belongs, i dunno, thats my thoughts, whadyou think?

After that i cut out the circles for the fans for the radiators, fits near perfect, got a little more grinding to do, then ill cut through the front of the case tonight, and make it fit around the PVC.

Heh, i kinda like that picture, so, thats my work for the day, the front of the case will get fitted tonight, if i have enough time, ill do a short post and show you all what ive done post thoughts, ideas, color idea, and what not, oh and i have an idea for the 2 radiators, i dont wanna release it yet, cuz, its under works, but your gunna like it, its got to do with the tubing, and trust me, itll look, really cool

Nice project you got going there so far. I like the dremel cutout so far. Im sure its going to look even better once you get it all filed and sanded down.

Just a thought.....No offense
You would get a much cleaner look if you cutout the front to remove all that excess fan grill material from the original fan location. I know nobody is going to see it when the front bezel is on but, it will give it a more professional look without being a finger hazard.

I have the same case and here's what i did to mine.....

i like the idea of completly removing it... give a cleaner look to it, and its nicer... ill see what i can do, and as for airbrushing, ive heavily considered it, HEAVILY, but, my airbrushing skills arent the greatest, well see, i do have a few friends who are skilled in that art, maby ill be able to get a few lessons

I'm loving your project so far! Very original indeed. Just a sugestion...t ry to stencil the art and paint it in by sections...its kinda a very long road but i've seen friends do it..not to shure how easy it'll be on the intricate designs you have there but who knows.

If not you could always just paint it by hand after you paint the case.

theres an idea, ill look into it, see what i can do, as for today, ive gotta go to the dentist... and get a buncha needles, the "claim" i have a cavity. So i dunno how much actual modding ill be up to and how ill be feeling when i get back, but on my way home, im pickin up a bunch of bondo for the front, im not liking that grill, and the swing door

Key files.... you definately need a set of "hardened" key files... no matter the size & thickness of
the "jaggies" of a 'cut... key-files & some time will make your cuts look super smooth!

Nice progress! I think the FFX-2 theme is gonna rock. I'm a fellow Sqaure-junkie myself, but more on the classic side. (VII and IX) Also, I think you gave away your gender in this pic.

I have to agree with him except my thought were more along the line of your hands in general not really built like a guy, no protruding nuckles, no excessive wrinkles, and the nails are way to manicured for a guy. With that said though I think your work so far is fantastic i cannot wait for the finished product. Your artistic skill and focus are clear in this project. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for the support guys, and thanks Dena , k well, today, i went to the dentist and got needles, and they froze my mouth... and it hurt..., so i didnt get a chance to get TO much done, but enough for preperation tomorrow. I picked up some bondo today, and many other goodies



Bondos cheap eh? 5 bucks for all of that, not bad IMO



Picked up these handles, when i go to lans its awckward carryin the case into and out of the place so... this helps, plus, its Stylish

So, i was looking at the 2 blowholes, and thinking, well, i was thinking, i dont like the way this looks... so, i cut the PVC pieces in half, then took 2 peices of plexi, did a little dremel work (and gosh darnit in all the excitement forgot to take pictures), and this is what i came up with, hope ya like



Now, i am gunna do touch up, and im gunna get some wire sleeving to put around it and make it nicer, now i didnt make a whole new plate because... im broke, and i cant afford any metal, whatsoever, i realize it would look better, and amazing, and ida love to, but under these strick circumstances, i cant , oh well, nextime. now for the PVC that i messed around with, this is what i came up with



yay, a blowhole, mostly held together with a glue gun, but im gettin bondo out, and the whole thing will be covered tomorrow, itll look grrrrrate,

As for your metal dilemma - have a look around some thrift stores, junkyards etc - For my current project - I used a serving tray that I got from a second-hand store for US50 cents - I've seen oven trays too - some are made out of aluminium, others out of light steel - just DO NOT get stainless steel - that stuff eats your dremel wheels (and they ain't cheap!)

I love looking around for alternative material sources - going MacGyver sometimes is kinda fun - especially if it works!

**pulls out Swiss army knife, a cardboard box and a pack of chewing gum**
