| Hey Fellow Pimps and Pimpettes, I recently started a mod and wanted to post my progress, and see what you peeps think. Hopefully I won' t get bashed too bad I'm nowhere close to being a "Pro" like the other Pimp Modders here, but I do hope you enjoy it ![]() First off, I wanted to start with a pretty solid case, so I decided on a Cooler Master Centurion 5. The theme of the mod is basically "Dragon" and "Speed".. so hence the name "Dragster". Ok.. its corny.. but works So here goes with the mod.I have pictures of the case in its original condition, but I forgot to take them off my PC HD, before I dismantled it. So here are general pictures of the case: ![]() So the first thing I did was to completly take the case apart. The annoyoing part is that everything was rivited together. So I had to take a drill to remove the rivets. I also decided to dump the 3.5 HD Cage, to give more rooms for other goodies ![]() So here is a picture of the frame: ![]() Instead of cutting an intricate design into the side panel, I decided to try something a bit differnet. I was going to cut an image from a sheet of alum and then mount it on the outside of the case. ok.. may sound lame, but I have a few more things to make it look cool ![]() So here is some progress pics of the dremeling: ![]() Here is a general shilloutte of the dragon: ![]() A bit more details: ![]() Here is the dragon pretty much in its final shape: ![]() Here is a picture of the dragon on the side panel. Its just kept on there w/ magic tape (aka Electrical Tape) for reference: ![]() Next few steps will be to finish up the dragon and have it mounted on the case. So that is it for now.. let me know what you guys and gals think. SAD Last edited by SuAsDu; 18-April-05 at 02:02 AM.. | ||

I was thinkin the same thing. That would be pretty pimp. Im with thrasher you should use a riser and put a light behind it. Also that would be pimp if you polished the hell outa that dragon. Keep up the good work. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Hey folks.. thanks for all the great feedback and comments ![]() As for the riser thingy and lights on the dragon, yup.. that is coming next. It wouldn't be "PIMP" to have it just sit flat on the side panel, now would it ![]() Agent_M - hey old UK buddy.. good to see you on the forum stick around, I know you will like it here. Everyone here is Pimp'in Side Note.. I want / need to sand the dragon to make it smooth. I was cutting it from the back side, but still managed to scrath the dragon a bit. What grit do you guys recommend to smooth out the dragon, and what grit do you recommend to get it to a nice shine ![]() I do have a few more ideas up my sleeve, so lets see if I can make it happen. As for the thickness of the alum I use, I am not sure. I will have to check the label when I get back to my work bench. Its nothing special, you can pick up a sheet from Ace Hardware. Take care folks ![]() SAD | ||

| Very nice attention to detail on the dragon's head cuts. If you haven't already (which I kinda assume you have), a nice sanding/filing job on the inner and outer edges would be a "must", since with something like that, people ogling it are bound to wanna touch. Ouchies would be a bad thing... Depending on the depth of the scratch, you could either start with 400-grit to get the scratch "out", then move up... I personally think wetsanding *by hand* with 1000/1500/2000, then using a good metal polish would yield some nice results as far as shine... You could also use chrome body panel tape if you can find it wide enough to cover the whole of the dragon's head. Gonna keep an eye on this project, keep up the good work and post more pics, always more pics! | ||

| Hey Fellow Pimps and Pimpettes Update #2 for you great folks. I appreciate all the great feedback from my first post hopefully you enjoy this post also. As always, any feedbacks or comments are greatly appreciated.Just a quick recap. This part of the project is to place a design on top of the case, but also in corporate the radiator blow hole for my DangerDen water cooling setup ![]() So i wanted to make sometime that made the top of the panel a bit more exciting, but the blow hole would fit in. So I came up with a tribal pattern that I cut from the leftover alum from the dragon. So here comes the pictures ![]() 1. Here is a piece of alum I used for the top cut out in its raw form. ![]() 2. Here are some pics of the progress of the dremling. ![]() ![]() 3. Here is a picture of the finish, but very rough tribal blade cutout: ![]() 5. Here is a pic of the tribal blade cut out on top of the top panel (what a tounge twister), so you can get a feel of how big it is. ![]() 6. With the tribal design done, here are some pics of the blow hole being cut out: ![]() ![]() 7. Here is a picture of the tribal cut out on top of hte blow hole: ![]() 8.. Drumm roll please ![]() Here is a pictures of the tribal design, the top panel and the radiator. ![]() ![]() Well.. I hope you enjoyed my update. The top panel isn't done yet. I still have to do the final mount of the tribal design. It will sit flat on top of the case. I also have to smooth the edges to make it clean. There is one or two more mod ideas up my sleeve for the top panel, but that will come a bit later. Take care, and I look forward to hearing from you pimps and pimpettes ![]() SAD | ||
