| Thanks for info dudes! TT labeled it only as "SS" which had me wondering.I'll take this opportunity to mention that this project is a "platform" launch ...and AMD owns ATI .....and ATI is preparing it's new quad-core "CrossfireX" gpu for this platform ![]() Project Phenom Fun Fact #1 Thermaltakes SwordM case will accomondate twelve 120mm fans 4x 120mm fans in the access door 3x 120mm fans in the top panel 2x 120mm fans in the rear door 2x 120mm fans in the floor 1x 120mm in the bezel * good grief. | ||

| I doubt that it'd be a requirement to use all 12 fans, unless you were planning to install the "SS" mobo. Sounds like that thing has the potential to heat the arctic up by a couple of degrees , which, I'm sure, is a concept AMD would like to steer well clear of with this launch (what with ROHS compliance and all that)...in my opinion anyways .I am realy keen on seeing how this mod unfolds . It is certainly going to be a challenge. | ||

| It's fan overkill. Half of those fans won't be neccessary for our needs ![]() As I mentioned in the video, we won't be needing TT's watercool sys. We're talking with CoolIT right now about sponsering us with their new Freezone Elite A lot of this stuff isn't available yet, so even though we've got AMD backing us, it can be an uphill battle to get these exclusive products into our hands.. the tight time line isn't helping matters either. | ||

Yep Bill, ya beat me too it there! ![]() I'm also using the scythe kama meter in my Tt soprano and its a nice bit of kit! I find the temps it reads are quite acurate compaired to real temps. it comes with three different colour face plates and the screen changes to what colour you want also! you can read up to 4 temps and control 4 fans aswell as volume control. ![]()

I thought about it before the case arrived. I've heard theres mini linear hydraulic actuators that are a good scale for case panels, but no idea of whats involved with res/pump. I haven't had time to track them down. The actuators on the SwordM are gas btw You can buy electric linear actuators here, the housing tends to be bulky imo ![]()

| I just thought of this today, CM Stacker + Zalman TN 500A = SwordM (btw: ^ dig those zalman castors!) Bummer news gang, CoolIT told us the Boreas 12TEC Chiller isn't ready yet. We're waiting confirmation for using their new Freezone Elite CPU cooler instead. Carlos just sent an inquiry to SuperTalent about using their SSD hard drive (128GB SATA model #FSD28GC25M) We're also waiting for delivery confirmation on Razor's new Lycosa keyboard Also looking at options for 32" LCD monitor, but haven't decided upon a brand/model yet. fyi: Powering everything will be Thermaltake's 1200W Toughpower Cross-Fire Ready Modular Power Supply. | ||

You should have enough power there to use electric servos on that side panel(and everywhere else for that matter). ![]()

| Thank you Moogler Just thought I'd share Supertalent's response after we asked them about sponsering us with a sample of their new SSD 128GB HD for the Phenom Project "It's a $4000 product, so it’s not in our budget. If you just need the drive on a loan for CES and you could return it afterwards we might be able to work that out." We're gonna pass, but I just thought you would like to read that.. | ||

| You aint kidding! Carlos sent Seagate an inquiry about their SSD HD (crosses fingers) I'll let ya know what they tell us. Not a terribly exciting update after refusing $4K HD, but note worthy Heres the 120mm fans I chose for the case. btw: I only bought 4 fans, not 12 ..lol. This is Aerocool's Silver Lightning Silent White 120mm LED Fan. It's a decent fan and since I'm planning either polish or chrome plate the new case shell, I think these fans fit the bill. I'm still shopping for fan controller options. # Operating Voltage: 10.2-13.8 VDC # Air Flow: 65 CFM # Speed: 1,500 RPM±10% # Noise: 26.58 dBA | ||
