text over images [html help]

Im in need of some serious help. Id really like to have this site up this weekend and well... I cant with the way I have it set up right now. Currently I have images assigned to where I need text. The field "Main" is going to be updated daily with news and stuff but I have no idea how to get text over the background...

Put the image as a background and then it will be like a normal background.

What are you using to edit your HTML? Frontpage? Dreamweaver? If you have the image set as the background, you shouldn't have any problems putting text over it. But if you're using it as a plain ol' image, you'll have to edit the image with the text itself.

Yeah I am using dreamweaver and yes they are just images assigned to the place for text.

How exactly do I set it to be the background? EDIT I guess I should read drr...

That background thing wont work because i have different images so a single color background will look awful.

Haha I saved it as a PNG and Im going to set the whole damn thing as the background. The only problem now is that I need to set the background NOT to repeat.

Got it not to repeat! woot!

If u have Photoshop u can make .html in there. So u could make all the images one big image. Also u can make hot spots in PS. We need some web designer tuts here.

I actually gave up on this one. I got it to work but its just a template. Im currently working on a flash site and its hard...
