Wish I could help... but as it were, I'm currently taking a class on macromedia flash5, so my knowledge is quite limited at the moment. It's not dreamweaver, though that is also offered here at my school.

Question

hmm oh well.

ok got my first weird problem.

To copy a tool bar between pages you just click on of the cells the press < t r > then ctrl+c to copy original bar....then on the other page that you want that tool bar on you just click the bar press < t r > then ctrl+v to paste it.

well it wont let me do it. i keep getting this message when i try.

"Cannot paste when a layout cell is selected. Click inside the cell to paste the contents of the clipboard"

That statement is contredictory, if i cant paste when the cell is selectd...how will it know where to paste it? then it tells me to select the cell after it just said it wont work if i do

thanx and +rep to anyone who can help me out on this, ive tried several times..each time different way.

Well, i just asked my flash instructor about your problem.

Although, we deal with Flash 5 and Flash MX is the newer version, so it has features that neither him nor me know about. However, he did say you could try creating a new layer or pasting them seperately. I don't know if that will help, but from the limited knowledge on the situation, that's all he could muster.

im creating a page in fireworks, and when i preview it, the resolution is smaller. i made the page @ 1024x768 (most users browse at this.) and it looks like 800x600.

so should it get better when i put it in dreamweaver, or did i do something wrong. because i dont want to go any further if im doing it wrong and the page will end up too small. the graphics look weird because of the resolution going down.

its a long day so ive had a couple cold ones, so i ended up making some rollover buttons. i forgot to make them link to a page. is there a way to make them link to a page after i inserted them already?. oh here is a screenie of my first web page in progress.

(this is for a friend in vagas who does VIP hosting )

Default double post FTW !!!!!

Site is up

just need to apply links to the buttons and insert some more text and more pics on the front page. im going to change the font on the buttons, also make the text change blue or something when rollover and put a soft "ding" sound on each one.

i made it @ 1024x768 , but as you can see its a little smaller.....what did i do wrong

All advice and comments are welcome.

P.S...why is the shading weird?

It looks good so far (I know it's under production) but most people (not geeks like us) still browse at 800 x 600. That's really my biggest issue with it, otherwise, you also need to add a title instead of "home page.gif" Looks great for someone whos never used fireworks before, a testimony to Macromedia for their super simple tools.

thanx for the feedback, since its already made @ 1024x768 it would be a pain to re-make it smaller .

and i dont know how it got called home page.gif..LOL, do you by any chance know what file it would be, because alot of the pictures got called home page..

it should be in the "index.html" file between the title tages near the top of the page, Looking at the source, it's the tird line down.

You'll need to change the line in the .htm file from "< title>home page.gif< /title>" to "< title>Site Name< /title>

Also, when viewing it in Firefox, it is larger than my screen and it has a scroll bar on the bottom at 1024x768

Ok, i finished the night clubs home page. None of the links are operating now but rollover is visable. the page looks best at 1024x768.

i updated the the format so the colors look alot better.
