Default Voice Activated Software

I know years ago when I last looked at it it was pretty primative and buggy..definately not user friendly.

I grow tired of typing all my replies, plus it takes too long sometimes to catch all my thoughts .

With the proliferation of voice activated menus on phone systems, I wonder if there is something out there that realy works today (Preferably free, I would spend a reasonable amount for it, but nothing UBER expensive)

Check these out....

I don't have any personal experience with these apps at all. The only thing I did try was MS Voice Command on my pda. It worked ok but I had to train myself to speak clearly, can lead to some frustration initially. I'm sure there must be something better for PC that's freeware and doesn't line Bill's pockets.

Here's another option:

You may find something out there.
I went to a trade show in NYC a year or so ago, and a booth had some voice recognition typing software that was pretty impressive. It typed the guy's entire sales pitch (with side comments) without a snag. I actually looked under a table for a typist. And I am still skeptical because I couldn't understand how the program knew when to add punctuation or capitalize letters. So I wonder if he was just reciting a planned script.......
It was set up to use a specific word processing program. I'm not sure if it was able to interact with other programs or typing into a webpage. I don't remember who was pushing this software, I'll ask my pal if he remembers.
But I guess what I am trying to say is that from seeing what that program could possibly do, how my cell phone works so well with voice commands, and how many phone menus work with voice command, I think this ability may be right around the corner.
