these bastards are all now on my blacklist. We had a hami raid that was going fine and then a bunch of them apparently had organized to ruin the raid as much as possible.

Griefing always stinks, but for a SG to get together to grief a Hami raid....that's just deplorable. What the heck did they do?

I'm interested in hearing what happened, too.

There's another rumor going around (by several people, I might add) that they found an exploit in Faultline with the influence/prestige system. They used this to get an Item of Power for their supergroup base. That tipped the Devs off to check it out to see if it was done legitimately and apparently it wasn't so it got yanked.

Tribute's excuse was that someone went in to "edit" the supergroup base and that's how it got deleted. However, it is my opinion that if someone had earned the IoP without cheating, they would be screaming up and down the CoH boards demanding justice. As it is, they are just simply laughing about it.

Yeah, I think I'm going to steer clear of the Tribute supergroup.

The number one killer of Hami raids is lag when Hami gets below 50%. When he lags then, the number of holds on him decreases so we do all we can to reduce lag (since the developers won't upgrade the servers . ..). Now there are many things that cause lag: unnecessary powers, toons with no holds in the goo around hami, unnecessary pets (anything other than dark, ice, or grav).
We also reserve the request channel just for the raid leaders so we can get the instructions out correctly.
The agro team (a tank with a team of defenders on him healing) is separated from the hold group so the holders don't get killed.
Monster pulling is a big no-no as well. We used to keep some tanks on standby to taunt them away but numbers have dropped and its harder to maintain the taunt shield now.

Tribute (and a couple of other guys that jumped in later on, we think) did numerous things which included:
Spamming on the request channel and/or giving incorrect instructions
Summoning a ton of pets that were causing us to lag out so the holding took longer
Bringing a tank into the middle of the holding group and taunting hami so hami's aoe killed off the entire hold group which pretty much made us restart the hold phase.
Pulled monsters into the hold group (I had Nyte Bane there to get an extra HO last night too. Saved the group a couple of times with him)
Fulcrum shifting, rain powers, etc.

This all delayed holding in some way or another which just makes the holding phase last longer. When the holding phase lasts too long, people eventually start to leave and we don't have the numbers to complete it.
the leaders had to eventually tell people to ignore these people just so we were getting correct instructions but there's nothing we can do to stop them from killing us.
If you guys want to add these people to your ignore and globals, here's the list of people we saw:
Lady B
Johnny Priest
L33t One
XParticleManX
WalkerTRanger (You should remember this guy, Rob. that last raid, turns out he was trying to screw us then too)

There were also a few others that were pulling monsters, casting the rains and fulcrum shifts but we weren't able to get their names. Tribute was bragging how they ruined the raid because they didn't like Holographic AI. Some people kept the logs of the chat messages and sent them into Support as evidence so maybe something can actually happen now. Seriously, if we get a couple of people banned for griefing (as people were for griefing in PI) then the issue would probably stop. I really wish that we could do Hami raids earlier in the day for two reasons: Servers are more stable and GMs are on to actually see our petitions.

We had quite a few first time raiders last night who followed directions and it turned into a horrible experience for them

edit: was talking about it in radiofreespirit today and apparently 3 of them confessed on the coh forums but the thread got deleted. someone copied the thread and link and sent it to cuppajo so maybe somethign will actually happen this time.

I hope they get nuked by the GMs. That sort of behavior is totally unacceptable.
