| After about five e-mails back and forth between support and myself, it appears that the "Patrol Bloody Bay" is a badge mission. Whether or not it is the "Risk Taker" badge is unknown. The last e-mail said... Thank you for contacting PlayNC Support. While doing this Badge mission did you get disconnected or sent to the hospital? Were you part of the team and present in the mission for the entirety of the mission? This information will help us narrow down the issue. Please respond back to us through this email with this information as soon as you can. Who knows? Maybe next time you log on, you'll have the badge. I gave them the names of all the team members, plus the screenshot by Enko helped. Rob | ||

| Proof that support doesn't really know what they are talking about...(start at the bottom and read upwards) ------------------------------------------------------------------ Response (GM Vagabond) Hello Robert, Thank you for your reply. Please be aware not all badges are given to every team member and are sometimes only awarded to the owner of the mission. As your character, **deleted**, is above the level requirements for these missions you will, unfortunately, not be able to receive this badge. While the badge system does encourage players to further explore the City of Heroes and City of Villains environment, it was not designed so that a character could get every single badge. The badges create a wide variety of tasks for each character class to partake in. The badges your character collects will reflect your play style and character development as you progress through the game. While it is possible for a player to get many badges with effort, the badge system was designed to be a method of personal _expression and achievement for your character. Collecting all the badges in the game on a single character was never the intent of the system. Thanks, ME: I'm sorry, but Brandon just stated that it was a badge mission and asked if I had died or got disconnected. I replied that I didn't, but now your team is saying that it isn't a badge mission. I'm confused. I was on a team that completed the Bloody Bay patrol mission and one person was awarded a badge for it and no one else on the team. We formed the team, he went to the contact and got the mission, then we completed the mission without any deaths or disconnects. Rob RESPONSE (GM DATUM) Greetings, Thank you for your reply. In regards to your issue, the Risk Taker badge is awarded for successfully completing one of several different patrol missions inside of a PvP zone. Since you do not currently have this badge, you will need to take and complete patrol missions until it is awarded to you. This badge will not be awarded for non-patrol missions. We apologize for any inconvenience the error in the description may have caused. Please be sure to let us know if you have any other questions. Take care, ME: My friends and I had logged on for the afternoon to play together and no, none of us died and we were present for the entire mission. Also, we did not leave the team, ! either. That mission was just a series of missions that we ran together this afternoon. The toons on the team were: Incendia Dicio Keora Pele **my toon** FuriousHedgehog You can refer to the image link I gave earlier for confirmation of the team. Keora Pele was the only one awarded the badge. No one else on the team received it. Thanks, Rob RESPONSE (BRANDON) Hello, ! Thank you for contacting PlayNC Support. While doing this Badge mission did you get disconnected or sent to the hospital? Were you part of the team and present in the mission for the entirety of the mission? This information will help us narrow down the issue. Please respond back to us through this email with this information as soon as you can. Thank you and have a great day. ME: "Patrol Bloody Bay" from Warzone Agent Eckman in Bloody Bay. Thanks, ! Rob RESPONSE (GM JORMUNGANDR) Hello, Thanks for contacting PlayNC support. If you can please provide us the name of the mission and the contact that assigned the mission we will attempt to pull system logs to confirm if you earned the badge. Thanks for taking the time to respond. Regards ME: Thanks for the quick responses to my inquires. However, I was teamed up with th! is mem! ber when he was awarded this badge upon completion of the mission. I've checked and no one else on the team except for him (Keora Pele) earned the badge upon the completion of that same mission. Thanks again, Rob RESPONSE (GM TEKCON) Hi Robert, Thank you for sending us an update in regards to this issue. I do apologize, you are correct the Heroes version of the Most Wanted Badge is called the Risk Taker badge. However, as per the prior e-mail, this badge is awarded for the completion of a particular miss! ion, and not for the completion of ten missions. Please let us know if you have any further questions or concerns. Regards ME: Actually, I just checked and "Most Wanted" is the badge for villains while "Risk Taker" is the badge for heroes. Both have the same requirements...complete 10 PvP zone missions, which I did on that team. Thanks, Rob ME: I can understand t! he descriptions being wrong, but why is the badge called "Risk Taker". I've double-checked with the forum boards at CoH and they mentioned that this badge is bugged. Is that true? Thanks, Rob RESPONSE (! GM TEKCON) Hi Robert, Thank you for sending us an update in regards to this issue. From the description you have provided us, it sounds like you are referring to the Vigilante, Most Wanted, and Agent Provocateur badges for heroes. At this time, there is actually an error with these badges in that the text reads you receive them for completion of a required number of missions, however, the! y are awarded for completion of a certain type of PvP zone mission. Please let us know if you have any further questions or concerns. Regards ! ME: A member of the team received the badge for doing the 10 PvP missions, but I did not. Here is a link to a screen shot from this player. http://img223.imageshack.us/my.php?image=screenshot.jpg Thanks, ! Rob ! RESPONSE (GM JORMUNGANDR) Hello, ! Thanks for playing NC Support. We do not reflect any such badge in the game at this time. Where did you read there was such a badge? Please respond so we can review the information you are receiving. Regar! ds ME: Hi. I've participated in over 10 PvP door missions in Bloody Bay and have not yet been awarded the Risk Taker badge. Thanks.Rob | ||

| well what about those of us that are completionists and will never feel comfortable knowing there's a badge out there that we don't have? how does that reflect our play style then if we can't get all the badges? i think they're just trying to cover up their own idiocy in that they forgot to allow toons that were already past the pvp zone level the ability to do stuff in the pvp zones . .. | ||

Since when did this happen?!? Granted, it's been a few months since i've really played CoH, but i'd never heard anything about badges like that. I'm not saying that the statement is innacurate (well, based on the response to Rob's first email - "No such badge exists" - maybe it is), but i've never heard of mission badges that weren't team badges. Individual badges are one thing (History badges, Personal Achievement Badges, etc.), but badges that are awarded for doing a mission are team badges, i thought. In all honesty, i'd trust what's posted on Vidiot before i'd trust what support says (I've had similar issues with them). IMO sites like Vidiotmaps have a higher chance of being correct than CoH Customer Support....and that's just sad. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||

| some people on the vidiotmaps forums suggests that we'll only be able to get the badge after the +40 pvp zone comes out. so what this guy said about the game being designed so not everyone can get all the badges is a bunch of crap. we know they're going to release a +40 pvp zone eventually; they just need to raise the level cap for CoV first. I'm guessing the dev was more talking about the epic healing, damage, etc badges. though I've been working with them on ID and I obviously can get the healing badges. just takes a ridiculously long time since all I got is Aid Others . .. oh btw Rob, for the 5 hour badges, you can't leave the zone or enter any mishes or the counter resets. Only way to get in and out without resetting the counter is logging. once you do get the 5 hours, log off then log back in and you should get the badge | ||

| Over at the CoH boards, they are saying that all of the non-exploration PvP badges are bugged beyond belief. I logged on with my lvl 21 stalker to check something real quick and discovered that some time ago, she had been awarded three of the PvP zones badges....and I've never been to a PvP zone with my stalker. I'm just going to wait until I7 comes out along with the new zone. Rob | ||
