why don't you just preorder CoV? it comes with a beta slot and you get to play it when it goes live a couple of days earlier than everyone else (though that will be wierd going through the zones with just the other people that bought it early . ..)

| I am going to pre-order it; however, I'm waiting on CompUSA and BestBastards...er, I mean, Best Buy to show their copy of the pre-order. Out of the four retailers, there are going to be four different special in-game masks offered. The one by GameStop.com so far is the coolest helmet (that's the special in-game reward) as the one from EBGames reminds me too much of a bug. Rob LINK | ||

| From what I understand, each of the four retailers are going to have their own special in-game helmet. As far as the DVD version goes, I think it's only going to have all seven of those little figures in them. I'll keep doing some research into it and get back to you guys. Rob | ||

| w00t! Found it. There are four different types of special helmets that is a reward for pre-ordering CoV, whether it's the regular version or the DVD version. Here is the link... LINK Still trying to find out if there is a special power or badge associated with getting the DVD version over the regular version. As of right now, the only extra bonus you'll get is getting all of those little funky statues rather than just one. Rob P.S. I'm going for the Gamestop version myself...the others look a little too dorky. Besides, females make the best villians. EDIT: Here's what I've discovered so far about the supergroup bases... Bases – Heroic Headquarters and Villainous Lairs David 'Zeb' Cook (Lord_Recluse) talks bases 5/26/05: Quote:How does one decide to make one's base raidable? It seems that earning 'Trophies' or 'Items of Power' from new Hero or Villain supergroup Task Force Trials will flag your base as being raidable. Of course, stealing one from another supergroup's base will flag you as well. Reports from E3 indicated that having an 'Item of Power'/'Trophy' would force a supergroup to set a short raiding time window for their base. Multiple 'Items of Power'/'Trophies' would cause that raid window to lengthen. Something else to chew on for base raids: Quote:A few other factoids about bases that came prior and during E3:
Pics and dvcam footage of the base designer program in action at E3 can be found scattered in forums threads.

| From what I was able to gather, buying all four will create four new seperate accounts. When you log into one account, the other three will not be available. Also, these mask are available only on the pre-order. Once it's released, buying it in the store will not unlock the masks. So, you'd be buying four of them at $49.99 apiece. Little too much, in my opinion. Also, these masks are going to be exclusive to the one you pre-order for the first couple of months. After an initial period, NCSoft said that they will let us know how to get all four of the unique mask so no worries there. Also, no word on what special extra in-game stuff the DVD version will include over the regular version. Rob | ||

| Well for the last week or so I have been playing CoV I have created two different characters. Scarey Carey which is a Corruptor which reminds me most of a scrapper. I have Sonic attack powers and secondary power set is much like regeneration, first power is a self heal. You still get to choose from the same origins. Currently at lvl 4 Scarey Carey can solo mission or work well with a group. Tonight I created a character CyberKittyQueen. She is a Mastermind, as my primary I can summon Robots to do my bidding for me. My secondary power is dark miasma she is just a lvl 2. But I will post more soon. | ||

| Awesome! However, as much as I'm getting excited about CoV, I'm also starting to dread it a little. I'd like to pre-order the game but I don't know whether or not to get the regular or the DVD version (they still haven't told us yet what's included). Also, for the first few months, it's going to be a pain to play it with all the new players running around. We're also going to have to find out what the server names are and set one for an evil PimpRig Republic supergroup. I'd hate to have everyone pick a different server. I'll look for that tonight. Maybe Pimprig Republic can be for CoH and we can make a Uberwoot sg for CoV? | |||||||||||||||||||||||||

I was thinking of having them both for both games. For example, once our toons reach lvl 50 in the PR supergroup, we would move them over to the uberw00t supergroup. That way, it leaves open more spots for our other toons and for new members in the PR group. Also, I'm trying to figure out how in the world to set up a coalition between the two but with what I've had going on lately, I've done zero investigative work on it. Rob
