| Well I have been tossing this Gateway around for quite a while now, and I have been thinking of all sorts of great ideas to hack it up. It will start with a Gateway G6-366c MicroATX tower case, and it already has some bangin' specs (for something that had to fit inside this case and support a Socket A) on it. I snapped some pix to see if any of you pimps had any nice ideas for it. I got some, like a handle to go on top of it but I wanted to hear some shiznat from some peeps with clearer heads. Here are the specs: DFI AZ-30 TL 266 MHz FSB Duron 850 MHz\ Looking to upgrade to T-Bred XP2400 Gettin a 256 MB stick of pc3200 DDR from Chrome_Rust TNT2 32MB PCI\ gonna stuff it with an ATi AiW 9000 or better AGP 4X That's what I'm starting with and plan to upgrade later, right now I wanna get it going LANtastic will be a compact LAN party rig, doesn't weigh a ton and a half and is somewhat quiet (as opposed to the Tornado on Short Circuit) It is supposed to look somewhat and sounds somewhat like a Gateway, quiet as hell. If you look on the back in one of the pix you can see where I stenciled out mounting brackets for two 60 MM fans. | ||

| Just off the top of my head...either drill the front intake holes larger or cut it out and replace it with modder's mesh or something. As it stands right now, you could put a leaf blower in front of that and still wouldn't get decent airflow with those little ass holes. Also....whatever you do....chisel that damn gateway symbol off the front. And I'm guessing it doesn't need to be said that it needs some cool paint, huh? If it's for lan parties it should be durable, so you may want to look at that truck lining crap to spray on there. That way you won't have to worry about scrathes or anything. | Don't forget you will need a new power supply for that case, and you will have to mod it to fit. I have that same gateway case and it came with a 90watt power supply which is completely worthless for a socket "A" board and proc. It will boot, but won't power much of anything else. I still use my 90watt for testing mobos on the bench though. That case originally came with a 366mhz celeron and had no need for a large PSU. | ||

| A friend that I work with says he might have a PSU for it that's P4 compatible which is nice. I took out the internals and put them in another case for cooling purposes but I still want to do something with this case, right now it has a SuperSocket7 Gigabyte mobo in it w/450 MHz K6-II, I wanna stick a 550 in it, would a 90W run a SuperSocket7 system? It has onboard sound, video (crap Trident 3D) but I want to put a PCI ATi Rage 3D card in it. It would proally serve as a firewall or a HL server, it ran on my 500 MHz just fine without crashing. | ||
